What do these three puppies have in common?

Great recall.

Daisy, Ozzy and Rufus are between 9 and 12 months, and honestly, their recall at the moment is spot on. It’s lovely to see, they come back straight away, all happy tails and eager faces. Their families have clearly put the effort in, and it’s really paying off.

If Dolly’s recall is anywhere near that good when she hits their age, I’ll be happy.

That said… the teenage phase is looming! It’s that stage where recall sometimes gets a bit forgotten, they hear you, but suddenly a stick or a squirrel is far more interesting. We’ll see how it goes, but so far, they’re all doing brilliantly.

How’s recall gone with your dog? Any funny moments, near-misses, or magic tips you swear by? I’d love to hear them!

I get asked quite a bit about harnesses, what’s best, what I use, what I’d recommend.

There are so many available but I always say PerfectFit. They’re sturdy, comfortable, and properly adjustable, as they come in 3 parts. This makes them really suitable for all dogs, whatever their shape and size. As long as you measure your dog properly, it means less shifting about on the walk and more focus on having fun. They’ve got a clever ‘Y’ shape at the front, so the pressure’s spread across the chest and not the neck. There’s also nothing cutting across the front legs, so dogs can move freely and naturally.

Plus, they don’t go over the head. A small thing that bothers a lot of dogs, including Aggie! They wash up really well, too, She's had hers since she was a pup, I've only had to replace 1 piece in a bigger size.

Well, what a busy week that was. Despite the temperatures, all the dogs managed to get walks, mainly in shady areas with streams. Some loved the water others wouldn’t even dip their toes in 😂

Here are some of the lovely faces I spent time with. Some were having far too much fun to take time out for a photo shoot!

Two years ago, I swapped busy offices and back-to-back meetings for walking boots, wagging tails, and early mornings with cats, rabbits and the odd hamster… and honestly, it was the best decision I’ve ever made.

I used to work in TV and Telecoms, including MTV, Nick and Comedy Central. After being made redundant, I found myself in Sandbach, at a complete cross roads, wondering what on earth to do next.

I’d always loved the idea of dog walking, but I’d never had the courage to actually go for it. Back when I lived in London, I didn’t think it was fair to have a dog of my own with the hours I was doing, so I made the most of spending time with my friends’ and family’s pets whenever I could.

I mentioned the idea of dog walking and pet sitting to my friend , and before I knew it, she was designing a logo, with branding and a website design. Seriously, what was a girl to do!?! She gave me the kick up the backside I needed.

It’s taken me a while to get here, starting a business isn't always easy, and is definitely a learning curve. The support I've had from friends and the local community has been incredible, I'm so grateful.

I might not look quite as polished as I did in my corporate photo from back then, but I couldn't be happier. These days I get to spend time with some of the loveliest dogs, cats and small animals. I've been lucky enough to find brilliant clients who really value the care I give to their pets, and that makes it all feel worthwhile. This really is what I'm meant to be doing.

So tell me… what did you do in a previous life? Let me know in the comments, I love hearing how people have found their ‘thing’ later in life too.

My new crates are coming in to their own at the moment! With this warm weather, they’re a brilliant way to keep the dogs settled and safe during travel. The design allows plenty of airflow, and with the car windows open, there’s a lovely breeze circulating. It means everyone arrives cool and ready to enjoy the walk.

Is your dog more of a front seat chatterbox or a backseat snoozer, I’ve definitely got both in my groups 🤣🤣🚙

“I want the best for my dog, but I can’t always do it myself”

It’s something I hear often in meet and greets, and I completely understand it. Life gets busy, and even when we have the best intentions, giving our dogs the kind of walk they really need isn’t always possible.

That’s where I come in.

What I offer isn’t just a walk around the block, no one wants to think their dog is just tagging along on a crowded lead, counting down the minutes. It’s a proper break in the day, time to explore somewhere peaceful, sniff the grass, stretch their legs, and be around other dogs they genuinely enjoy being with.

Just like people, dogs have different energy levels and personalities. Some love to play and run, others prefer a steady pace and a bit of space. And not every dog wants to be friends with every other dog, and that’s absolutely fine. I take time to match my small groups so each walk is calm, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.

I choose quiet, off-lead routes around Sandbach that allow dogs to relax and just be themselves. No busy parks, no pressure, just the kind of experience you’d choose for them if you had the time.

So if you’ve got a busy schedule, and these are the walks you want for your dog, message or comment below.

Rufus wants a quick word 💦💧

He wants to remind all his mates to keep drinking lots of water this week. It’s going to be hot so staying hydrated is as important for animals as it is for us.

Whether it’s a bowl at home, a bottle on a walk, or a cheeky slurp form the tap, make sure fresh water is always available.

Enjoy the sunshine 🌞

Anyone got any tip tips for keeping your pets cool, I’d love to hear it!

Did you know June is National Microchipping Month? It's always good to make sure your cat or dog's microchip details are up to date, especially if you've recently moved or changed phone numbers. It only takes a few minutes to check with your microchip database, and it could make all the difference if your pet ever goes missing.

Microchipping gives your pet the best chance of being reunited with you. Unlike a collar or ID tag, a microchip can't fall off or be removed. Vets, dog wardens and rescue centres can scan the chip and contact you directly if your pet is found.

If you're unsure how to check or update your details, feel free to message, I'm always happy to help point you in the right direction.

From mud monster to cuddle monster in just a couple of days 😂

Luna smelt so much nicer today, and I’m getting ear kisses instead of being covered in mud.

Whose dog loves dirt and a good cuddle? I’d love to hear your stories, pop them in the comments 😊
