Pretty new boy Ivan was so good at our first outing together. We didn’t really know what to expect and it was touch and go whether we would go as I haven’t been able to ride for a few days thanks to a sprained ankle.

Fact finding mission completed, he’s definitely exceeded my expectations. Very happy 😁😁😁

The weekend finished perfectly with Captain getting a whopping 76% in prelim and 71% in his first go at novice. He's really starting to get physically much stronger and got 8s for both medium trots. So pleased with his progress 🙌

What a fab weekend. Retraining of Racehorses North West regional and little Roger came 2nd in the prelim and 2nd in the novice both over 70% and qualifies for national champs at Aintree International Equestrian Centre, I'm aware he's not a big fancy pants dressage horse but the pleasure this little horse gives us is off the scale. He's an out and out trier and we are very proud of him ❤️

I asked our lovely client Xanthe Goldsack if she would mind saying a few words about her story after coming a fabulous 2nd in the Intermediate at Little Downham, with impressive dressage tests in her last 2 runs.

Was blown away by what she said

‘I’ve had Pamplona (Mila) since she was 5 years old and her jumping and crosscountry ability has always been ahead of her dressage training level. It has been super to really commit, with an empathetic and skilled trainer that suits her, to her flat work over the winter and spring and start seeing some hugely rewarding results. The ground work feels incredibly solid and only feels as though we will develop it further over the rest of the season and into next year. Toby has been an increidble help and just gets the horses, he can see everything I feel in a lesson and has all the tools to develop the scales of training and improve both of our way of going. Can’t thank him enough and Karl for looking after my horses so well, both an utter delight to work with.’

So our score in the PSG was just short of our combined age of 73!! A PB of 72.6% on Grandad Bit of a gushy moment, but without a very special friend and mentor none of this would have been possible.
