Oh Bonnie π this slinky girl cannot get enough fuss when she's in with us! Her favourite part is being towel dried off (and treats of course!) and loves to get some biiiiig stretches in whilst doing so π just look at that happy face!! What an angel β₯
Handsome Herbie showcasing one of the ways we can adapt hydro to suit the patient; he likes to lean into us a little too much if we're stood behind him π₯² so he can take some of the weight off his bad leg - but that's cheating Herb! π So we've switched it up to stand in front of him, and we're already seeing an improvement in his gait!
Gotta work hard to rebuild those muscles I'm afraid Herbie π great job pup! πͺβ₯
What a way to welcome back the page, than with the tiniest pup with the biggest personality! Everyone, meet Bob π
Our newest addition; Bob had to have surgery on both his knees a few months after each other, so now needs some nice, controlled exercise to build those teeny legs back up! What a great start little man πβ₯οΈ
Introducing our newest, splashiest patient - Coco β₯π¦ this sweet little lady does not stop wagging her happy tail, meaning we end up very damp by the end of her session π not that we mind, look how excited she is! πβ¨
Once again entering the splash zone with Cassie π¦π
Check out the gorgeous Sky on one of her first hydro sessions π this playful pup has hip dysplasia, so we're strengthening her hind limbs with hydrotherapy - she is absolutely smashing it, and packing on the muscle now!
Sky is currently up for adoption at the RSPCA π₯Ή So if you're on the lookout for an incredibly sweet, clever young dog and think you could give her the care and attention she deserves, please contact them π₯°
Fabulous Flora smashing her monthly session today to keep up her mobility! This sweet girl is a (now retired) Guide Dog, and her dedicated owner brings her along to hydro to keep her as pain free as possible in her older age β₯
Sweet girl Cassie wags her tail so much she splashes water in her own face π₯Ή the best girl, she is smashing her hydro sessions! Great job Cass, you're a little star πβ₯
Tiny Tilly smashing her session today π this little lady comes to hydro twice a week to get her re-building the muscles in her back legs as efficiently as we can, to get her back to normal life ASAP! Great job Tills πβ₯
Check this distinguished gentlemen showing us all how it's done π€ handsome Winston originally had spinal surgery back in 2020, recovered and regained most of his mobility. We've just given him a little rehab boost these past few weeks, and have already noticed a difference in his stability and gait! Keep smashing it, Winston ππͺ
Harry and Mitch getting into the festive spirit last session ππ It's our last hydro day before Christmas today, but we still have a few slots left in the morning of Thursday 27th! Give us a call / message to book in.
Otherwise, wishing everyone a very happy Christmas, from the team at Carisbrooke Vets Hydrotherapy πβ₯
Staff dog swim time!! Had the wonderful Barley in on Tuesday for a fun puppy swim - he belongs to one of our brilliant nurses, Luke. π Safe to say we're all very in love with this boy and will welcome him back any chance we get!! ππ
We hardly recognised lovely Marley - not only has his gait improved massively on the treadmill, but look at that fancy hair cut πβ¨ we'll miss seeing you every week Marley, but hopefully this isn't goodbye - pop back for fun&fitness sessions anytime you like πβ₯
This week's star - our little newbie, Polly! What a sweetheart this girl is, the tail does not stop wagging, and she's only on her second session and already smashing it! π
Great job Polly, you'll be back on all four paws in no time ππ
Pretty girl Poppy having her second session with us and making it look easy! Love how she decides to have a little splash at the end π¦π
Great job lovely, let's keep building your strength back up! πͺπ»
Oh Connie π that tail never stops! This little sweetheart had to have an operation on her hind leg to repair her torn cruciate ligament - probably our most common reason for hydro referral. It's a slow process but seeing improvements each week π₯°π
Introducing the gorgeous Loki π check out the improvement from his first session (top video) to one only 3 weeks later (bottom)!
Poor Loki slipped a disc in his spine, and had surgery at Island Vet Referrals to correct it - hydro has really helped in his recovery as shown with the difference between these two videos. We still have a little way to go, but he's improving every session - well done Loki! πβ₯
One example of how we tailor our sessions to suit each animal - Maisie isn't a fan of us being behind her due to previously experiencing pain in her hind limbs. So in this case, we switch the direction of the belt on the treadmill, so Maisie can walk towards us instead; easy fix!
Now this lovely pup can concentrate on getting those treats without worrying who's behind her! ππ
Super cute Simba getting some reassuring pets in-between runs! This handsome young pup is so very excited to finally be able to exercise again after breaking his femur π± such a trooper, good job Simba! β₯
Handsome boy Hudson here has just started with us at The Carisbrooke Vets Hydrotherapy because he's been diagnosed with hip dysplasia! Poor pup has very clicky hips, so our aim is to strengthen up the muscles in that area to help support him and make his movements a little easier!
Hudson is a little nervous as you can tell from the video, but he doesn't let that stop him - good job puppy! ππ
