As dog groomers, we sometimes face a reputation for simply “clipping dogs off” or leaving them looking a bit like little sheep. Often, this isn’t about our skills but about communication. There can be a disconnect between what a pet parent imagines and what we interpret – and the result can sometimes feel like a surprise. That’s why I make it my mission to ensure clear communication and collaboration with each pet owner.

With every client, I spend time discussing their vision thus time gives me a clearer idea of what you’d like, and if we can achieve it with for your pet.

This weekend, I had the pleasure of working with two adorable puppies whose owner was understandably nervous about me taking too much off their beautiful coats. She came prepared with photos, which really helped me to understand her ideal look and gave us a shared vision for the groom. I assured her that we wouldn’t remove anything we hadn’t agreed on, and with her attention to keeping their coats well-conditioned, it was an absolute joy to bring her vision to life.

These puppies were a dream to work with, calm and comfortable with every part of the process. This is a huge credit to their owner, who has been brushing, combing, and handling them regularly since they came to thier forever home, making grooming a pleasant experience for them – and me! When puppies are introduced to regular handling and brushing early on, it makes such a difference. They aren’t surprised or stressed, and we get to focus on bonding and making them look fabulous without having to worry about matted coats or discomfort.

I’m grateful for clients like this and these two amazing puppies, who made my weekend. Here’s to creating a safe, comfortable, and stylish grooming experience for every dog and their human. 🐾✨

As September arrives, we'll likely begin to notice the first signs of autumn approaching. This time of year is often a favourite for many dogs. While they may not care about the changing colours of the leaves, they certainly enjoy the cooler weather and the chance to join people outside, making the most of the last summer activities.

Some dog breeds are particularly well-suited to autumn. This season is when they seem to get their "outdoor legs" back. For dogs with thicker coats, September brings a refreshing change, allowing them to play and run outside without overheating.

As with any change in season, it's crucial to be mindful of your dog's coat. Different breeds experience coat changes in response to the weather, so it's essential to understand what to expect with your dog, even if you've been through autumn with them before. It's easy to forget how their coat reacted the previous year. Doing a bit of online research into your dog's breed can help you prepare for these changes and establish the right brushing routine.

Wow, how time flies when you're running a business and raising 5 children.
I can't believe I'll be starting the count down to Christmas soon, lol ( 18 wks to go !!🎄🫣)

I would like to take this moment to acknowledge the support my beautiful regulars have given over the years and I am sending love to the ones that have lost their fur babies over the course of this year, their presence will be sorly missed. I have had the delight of meeting and welcoming in new puppies, too.

🐾 I'm overflowing with gratitude as I bid farewell to another amazing year of dog grooming adventures! 🙏 To all my wonderful clients, thank you for choosing me to be part of your furry family's life. Your loyalty and trust mean the world to me. 🌟

🌈 As I reflect on the year, I extend my deepest farewells to the dogs who've crossed Rainbow Bridge. Each one has left pawprints on my heart, and their memory will forever linger in my grooming salon.

Here's to the tails I've wagged, the baths I've bubbled, and the friendships I've forged in 2023! 🎉
