The dogs had a busy day yesterday.... out to our first family get together of the Christmas period 😁

Plenty of attention for them and the benefits of teaching a "Boundary" / "place" game really shone through.

With both dogs being able to settle well .... we get home and this is what we get 😴😴😴😴

As we get ready for our Christmas break !!!

Here is a really interesting case ..... Lenny who presents as scared/fearful of a fence area due to a ball hitting the fence while he was walking past ......

However his "sticky" moment comes much before... we also found on the assessment a touch of nouse sensitivity.... Check out his work and progress.

Now a big bug bear of mine in the dog industry is where trainers take the lead and the dog performs well and they praise themselves and their ego but the reality is that the "trigger" picture is different and there is no Learned repeated behavioural neural pathway with the trainer so to me there is no suprise the dog overall wil perform better in fact I could of got a stranger and the dog would do better.... I find it disengeuos when trainers do this which is why I try and show "real" work in progress ... not flashy heavily edited befores and Afters... just raw clunky messy footage to show real world training along with the process so that nothing is "hidden".

To ALL dog owners
Remember this important statement - do not compare yourself to others and definitely not tje experienced trainer you hire .... instead COMPARE YOURSELF TO WHERE YOU WERE ..... YESTERDAY !!!

keep.up the great job advocating for your dogs and have a great Christmas and fabulous New Year!!

Out for a follow up session with Sonny ... to check on progress.... Sonny would not walk away from.the home .... well today he can walk over 7km away 💪💪

Today we also covered seeing other dogs- resetting - disengagement from stimuli and engagement with mum.... He encountered four Spaniels and a collie today all calm and controlled

Today we had an interesting case with Lenny the working Lab which on first glance looks like a bout of fear because of noise and a ball hitting a fence as he walked past .... now on his assessment he would get "stuck" but with various techniques to help him unstick himself we got him merrily skipping down the path next to the fence ... so this was more about learned behaviour over fear !!

Well done Lenny - you did brilliantly 👏👏👏 as did your mum.

We will have some videos of this process to post soon !!

So last night we met Herbie (plus Georgie and Claude).

Herbie is hyper excitable- bouncy and works himself up where he dysregulates and becomes massively attention seeking where his jumping, mouthing and barking reaches excessive levels .....

So today he learnt manners around people how to settle and regulate himself so calmness follows and if he is calm then the good things come.

He started learning our doir/visitor protocol to again reset him and prevent loading arousal escalation and dysregulation.......

He smashed it .... we have loads to do with him but what a wonderful start !!

Oh my word Look at this handsome fella - Atlas a 4 year old Newfoundland x Caucasian Shepherd ... had some issues physical health wise.

He is lovely but can be reactive and anyone who has a big strong dog knows how challenging that is because little dogs get away with it much easier and are much easier ti move away ....

This boy did flipping amazing today 💪💪👍👏👏🕺💃💯❤️

So here are some videos of Ziggy's session. ... some really lovely loose lead walking and engagement ... while on a harness ... we even came across another reactive dod that Ziggy coped with really well ... I did take her behind a car .... this was to help the other owner who we spotted was struggling and moving away .... always be responsible and help other owners. I am so super proud of Ziggy and Mum for what they achieved today .... loved every bit of working with them 💪👍👏👏💯❤️

Say Hello to Milo our latest young puppy client .... A beautiful Labradoodle ... who loves nothing more than charging round the garden chasing leaves and picking up stones and dragging everyone on the lead.
