The new foster puppy, isn't she a darling. The house is beginning to feel very quiet when there isn't a lodger in it. This little girl is very well behaved, a perfect house guest.

Words cannot explain how heartbroken we are to hear of the tragedy that happened in Southport today. Our thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones. It is unbelievably sad to comprehend that children have lost their lives and many more injured.

I've been thinking about starting to go swimming to get the lengths in, but that got me wondering about how many 'steps' it is around the field and how quickly a lap could be done. I have been told that walking around the outside of A field is 0.5 km. Has anyone ever measured it in steps. Maybe a bit difficult if you have to go off track to poo scoop but I'm sure some laps are poo..less. Let us know, pool recommendations are most welcome as well! I want to swim so not busy, easy parking etc. I'm thinking Hurleston Hall.

A date for you diary. There is an open garden, National Garden Scheme. We are doing the catering- 80% of the catering profits is donated to Carla Lane Animals in Need (20% goes to the NGS charity). Afternoon Teas, sandwiches and cake, including vegan.
Sunday 14th July 11am-5pm.
Well behaved dogs welcome (mine are obviously staying at home!!). I'm going to take some pupicinos for the dogs.
Hope to see you there, entry is £4, proceeds of that to the NGS charity.
Parking is from Drummersdale Lane, it will be sign posted.

Don't forget you can share your booking with your friends, even if the dogs don't get on you can go in different fields A or B.

Volunteer needed

Carla Lane Animals in Need are one of the supported charities at the Dog Festival. I am a Trustee for Carla Lane Animals in Need and I am running our stall at the festival. We are selling dog items, coats etc, our merchandise and puppicinos. More importantly we are advertising the charity and hoping to sign people up to our Bright Eyes program which sponsors our long term animals, including our two beautiful XL bullies, Mylo and Holly, that have been exempted to the charity.

I need a volunteer for the Sunday as my original volunteer's dog is having major surgery.
The volunteer must be good at speaking to people and prepared for a long tiring day, hopefully full of fun as well.
If anyone is available and feel that they fit the brief could you direct message me.

It is the dog show on Sunday, at Lydiate Parish Hall, why not enter a few classes- it is just for fun! There is lots of lovely food, including vegan options. It would be lovely to see you there- I'll be serving cake in the hall!

I haven't been to one of these before but I am going to be running a stall there for Carla Lane Animals in Need, promoting our work, selling merchandise and animal sponsorships (Bright Eyes Appeal). If you haven't submitted your ⭐️VETERINARY CONFIRMATION NEUTERING FORM⭐️ to DEFRA, now is the time.

⚠️Please don't leave it until the end. The DEADLINE is 30th June 2024 for all those dogs who were over 1yr old on 31st January 2024.

⭐️Contact the veterinary surgery that neutered your dog. Ask them to print off the form from Gov.uk. You will need information from your EXEMPTION CERTIFICATE.

If you don't know the vet used, speak to your current vet. Your dog may need to have a blood test to prove they are neutered.
