Price Increase as of March 1st 2025
We regret to inform you that, due to a significant rise in material costs and the increased operational expenses resulting from recent government legislation, we have found it necessary to adjust our pricing. Despite our efforts to absorb these increases, we are now compelled to pass on a portion of these costs to our clients.

We have worked hard to minimize the impact on our pricing, and the new rates for routine treatments will take effect starting 1st March 2025. The updated prices are as follows::
all prices include visit fee, sedation, routine treatments and electronic chart (VAT included).

Individual sedated dental treatment £125

2 horses sedated dental treatment £95 each

3-5 horses sedated dental £90 each

6+ horses sedated dental £85 each

Clinic dental - attend clinic date - £75 each

Diego was referred this case from another Vet: A 4yr old Shetland with a long term nasal discharge with two draining tracts on the upper aspect of the nose.

Fantastic News on this years Honour List - Well deserved Nicola!

Crumbs! I am speechless, (for the first time in my life!) shocked and unbelievably humbled to have received an MBE in the New Years Honours List.

Thank you for your lovely messages I’ve been well and truly overwhelmed by them….

I have to say that when I got the letter I told my family but said it may be a joke and they mustn’t say anything until the announcement was made to see if my name was actually there….

Then whilst teaching yesterday, the local paper rang and I thought with a nervous tummy, this isn’t a joke.

What an incredible honour and I am grateful to you all for helping me along this sometimes challenging journey through life but I feel incredibly lucky to have a life.

I had wanted to do a video message but I didn’t think anyone needed to see me shed a tear!

As an independent practice, Equine Veterinary Dentist, are proud to work with a larger number of equine practices and EDTs throughout the North East, Yorkshire, Cumbria, North Lincolnshire and surrounding counties.

EVD work closely with Thornton Wright Equine Vets to provide regular clinic days for referrals and advanced procedures at their fantastic facilities. We are lucky to have a large varied case load and we enjoy visiting our clients in North Lincolnshire.

Emily recently joined the EVD team and has quickly got to grips with helping and assisting the day to day cases. Emily will often be seen on the road supporting James in a clinical setting. When Emily isn’t supporting James, Diego and Poppy, she’ll be found at the end of the phone or emails covering the office for Jennifer.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys walking her two dogs, Evie and Lily and spending time with her horse, Pride…and doing this whilst listening to country music…which is now the go to station in James’ car!

Jennifer joined EVD in 2021. With extensive experience, Jennifer is the mastermind behind EVD, keeping things running smoothly, and what a great job she does! She keeps everyone in check and has the huge task of organising and keeping James, Diego and Poppy’s diary’s. Jennifer is the main point of contact for the practice and is always at the end of the phone or email whether it’s for appointments, bills, payments or general queries. A real team player, she can now and again be seen at our clinic days helping out or more likely there keeping the day running smoothly.

In her free time Jennifer enjoys riding holidays away with her friends and is looking forward to giving dog agility a try in the near future.

Poppy joined the EVD team in early 2022 as an apprentice. With a very horsey background and great general knowledge she was a perfect fit for the team. Poppy started her apprenticeship shadowing James and Diego and quickly became a key part of the team for routine, advanced and referral cases. She started her BAEDT training straight away and was fully qualified by early 2024 - this is an incredible achievement showing her hard work and dedication. Through working closely under two highly qualified dental vets, Poppy has been exposed to a broad spectrum of high level work. She’s often praised for her incredible attention to detail and natural eye.

Day to day Poppy carries out routine dentals alongside James and Diego. Her case load can be very varied from routine checkups, periodontal disease, advanced corrections and quidding horses. Poppy works closely with any in-house referrals and follows up all of her own caseload.

Outside of work Poppy spends a lot of her time driving tractors to help on the farm. When she’s not sat in a tractor she’ll be sat on one of her horses! She recently came 2nd at the Royal Highland Show in the Intermediate Working Hunters…and she’s now off to HOYS 🎉
