Afternoon at Bishop Burton College today. Dave and Shane enjoyed their first Professional Clean! 🧼
Dave being the youngest and Shane being the oldest in his late teens.

Both boys were exceptionally well behaved, and Shane had this bean 🫘 removed!!

Where are the beans? Beans are found in the Urethra Fossa, a small internal cavity in the tip of the pen*s, not in/on the prepuce.
I often hear owners saying they have found a few small beans just inside the Sheath. These will be balls/lumps of Sm**ma, and not actually beans. Without going deep up into the sheath, beans cannot be reached.

Can you imagine how much more comfortable Shane will be feeling now this has been removed? Imagine this being stuck in a place no larger than your thumbnail, with no way of naturally removing them themselves. 😬

Have you had your horse/pony/donkey professionally cleaned in the past 6 months? If not, pop me a message and we will get your boys/girls all cleaned up and leave them feeling fresh, comfortable and bean free 📆

Rocko here had his first Professional Sheath Clean 🧼

After many many refusals to clean him due to Rockos unwanted behaviour, this owner found me, and he was cleaned successfully.

I tried without sedation to start, but he was stressing too much, the kicks were hard and he meant it! He had previous with severe injuries to his hocks/stifle which had a lot of vet involvement. So this memory stuck with him, and although very sweet, he made it clear he wasn’t having any of it!

A tube of Domosedan Gel was administered after the owner purchased it from her vet.

Even fully sedated, Rocko was still able to kick and jump about. But with careful, quick but effective moves, he was soon squeaky clean and showing off the world his Clean winky 🍆

Do you have a difficult horse? 🐴
With my knowledge, expertise, calm and caring manor, all boys can be cleaned successfully whether it’s with sedation or without.

Look at this little fella 😍 cute or what!

He had his first clean with me today 🧼 and what a good boy he was.
Junior had a clean a couple of years ago with another Sheath Cleaning company which wasn’t a great experience and resulted in him being restrained by his legs. Junior then became a problem for the farrier, and learnt that kicking was his best way to show he wasn’t comfortable.
I was made aware that Junior may be very difficult to do, but he proved us wrong.
We started his clean on the yard in an open space, and he quickly learnt that he could move away swiftly and avoid what was being done. (No kicking or unwanted behaviour), so we moved into his stable and he soon settled and I got the job done.

I removed this huge buildup of dried crusty Sm**ma, he instantly dropped out and started licking and chewing which is a release. He must have been feeling very relieved.

Imagine having that much Sm**ma built up that it was almost impossible for this little guy to drop out completely 🍆 he’s going to be feeling a lot better now without that stuck in his nether regions!

Kindness, compassion, patience, and trust is all a horse/pony needs to feel safe and except what is being done.

From a traumatic past experience to today’s experience, Junior was left feeling calm, relaxed comfortable and clean 🐴💙

😬Important Considerations Before Cleaning Your Gelding's Sheath😬

After seeing some rather concerning comments on a post I saw recently, I wanted to clear a few things up.

Cleaning your gelding's sheath can be a daunting task for many owners. This essential maintenance is not likely to be a favorite activity for your horse either. However, it is sometimes necessary to assist nature in maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and comfort.

‼️It is crucial to avoid using products such as baby oil, olive oils, aloe vera, or commercial shop bought Sheath Cleaners. Such products can attract additional dirt, and dust, and the oil based products can help bedding, arena surface, and hay stick to the sheath, this may cause irritation rather than providing the intended cleaning and soothing effects. Water based lubricants are the ONLY products that should be used on a horses Sheath. Oil/Petroleum products have been proved to be detrimental to the health of your horses Sheath. Just it because it looks clean, does NOT mean it is healthy.‼️

The introduction of Professional Sheath Cleaners was a game-changer for mare and gelding owners! (Yes mares get beans too!)
Aswell as a Professional clean and bean removal (if any present), a Sheath cleaner would check for any abnormalities and refer you onto your vet if it felt nessesary.

Eliminate the need for vigorous scrubbing and struggling under your horse's hind legs. Instead, contact your local W***y Washer and allow them to work their magic.

Let’s all say hi to Oliver 👋👋

Ollie is a 16 year old Fell pony who been owned by his current owner for the past 13 years.. 🐴

He’s been cleaned by his owners in the past but today was his first Professional Sheath Clean. 🧼
Ollie was happy with me giving him a clean, until I found the bean pictured below. ⬇️
Having a reasonable sized bean must be very uncomfortable, and slightly painful to say the least.

We braced ourselves as we knew Ollie wouldn’t be happy with the removal, to which he definitely had his opinions about! He reared and jumped sideways into me a few time, so I swapped sides (to the offside) and I think this was just so confusing for him, he didn’t know what to do, so he then stood quietly and let me removed the bean 🫘..

Look at all that Sm**ma.. that must have been so irritating, itchy and uncomfortable!
It’ll be interesting to see if he or his moments change in anyway after this removal.

🌟 STORM and SEDATION🌟

How handsome is this chap!!
Who remembers Storm from last year??

I met the lovely Storm this time last year for his first Professional Sheath Clean with myself, and what a good boy he was!!

I was advised by his owner that Storm was a lovely young boy, but had previously always had to be sedated to have his Sheath Cleaned. 🧼 🍆
I always start with a strong positive attitude and go in open minded. Well Storm loved it!! He thoroughly enjoyed his clean.

Unfortunately Storm and his owner were both involved in a horrendous vehicle collision resulting in alot of broken bones, and having to be cut free from the transport 😬 (storm got out without a mark and no sedation needed whilst the fire service cut him out).
Traumatic experiences involving vets can sometimes change a horse’s way of thinking, so when I arrive in my uniform, and my big bucket, it can unsettle them just at the sight)

I met Storm again, and once again he thoroughly enjoyed his routine Sheath Cleaned, and has booked himself in for 6 months time.

Sedation is rarely needed, and aslong as I am careful, gentle, and reassuring but consistent, I can usually get the whole job done without any issues, leaving your horses calm, clean and comfortable.

Do you have a horse who you think will be an absolute bugga to do? A horse who won’t stand still? A horse who’s previously needed sedation in the past? Then message the page and I can see what I can do to help. 🙂🐴🧼🍆

‼️⚠️SHEATH CLEANING⚠️‼️

In recently weeks I’ve been hearing a lot of people saying Sheath Clean is something that doesn’t require any skill, knowledge, or expertise. 🤦‍♀️
Sheath Cleaning is an important task, and it DOES require knowledge, skill, understanding and patience! Although no recognised Qualifications are needed, training is needed and PROOF of this is required in order to obtain Insurance as a Professional Sheath Cleaner!

Anyone can put their hand up and ‘give it a good swivel’.. but could you identify healthy Sm**ma to not so healthy Sm**ma? Could anyone identify abnormalities?
I have cleaned horses/ponies who have been cleaned by their owner for many years, most of these having big beans, an unhealthy bacteria level needing a Sm**ma transplant, and a few who have been diagnosed with SSC (cancer of the prepuce/p***s, a few having to have p***s removal via surgery, aswell as some needed to be pts!! The horses with the worst Sheaths are the usually ones who have had their unknowledgeable owners or ‘mates’ on the yard have a go.
Correct Sheath Cleaning takes a whole lot of skill, knowledge, patience, and understanding.

I’m so very glad all my clients trust me and the ones who have had to put their horses through surgery realise just how important Sheath Cleaning is, and how not anyone can just do the job 😌

Lots of you have asked what I do when I’m not working and Sheath Cleaning all of your gorgeous horses 🐎

Well here we have my William, a quality bred Warmblood x TB, just 5 years young. He’s the newest addition to my equine family, and together we’re learning to jump. (Okay… he’s new to it too, but he’s the one teaching me 😆)

My day starts at the yard with William, and ends at the yard with William along with a quick get on Leo my fat lad who’s out with the ladies.

What do your days consist of? Work and horses/ponies?
