This is a drill we don't do a lot of ( two dummies down on left). We never want the dog to learn to run past game; however, this drill is just to test the dog's focus on where the line up is and to keep it there. ( sorry about the wind noise)
If we're training a new drill with our dogs, the first thing we do is shorten the exercise. This way, we can praise/correct and control what's going on a lot easier. This is Gwen's first time carrying game, and there's more for her to think about compared to a standard dummy. Have a great weekend!
Ace and Sprout, both full brothers but with different owners. Put them together and they become very competitive with each other, so here we are taking turns to make sure only one of them goes at a time. Have a great weekend! π
In our 121s yesterday, we did a lot of bunkers and boundaries. Not all birds hit the floor after being hit, so here was a good example of Bacca having to use his ability to think outside the box to get the win.
While feeding and cleaning the ducks, never miss a training opportunity. Have a great weekend! π
Hector on scented ground, just getting used to going out and back. It's all just a game to him and confidence-building at the same time.
Ginny is a lovely little spaniel with plenty of drive, but she loves to hunt for herself (typical spaniel π€£). We have taken Ginny back to basics and started handling exercises with her so she starts working for her owner and not just goes out free hunting.
Cooper has come to us for some obediance work, his biggest problem was other dogs and heelwork. So we put the two together and he's doing great π he's still a young dog and looking forward to seeing him progress.
