Yep we’ve been to the park and got bogging grafted 😆 but we had so much fun with our pawfriends mum said it was ok. Nana gonna be fuuuuming because we’re real long and raggy 🥴

Dear all XL bully owners,

We have a fenced field where we can add another gate, would any of you like to use it to let your dogs off the lead?

We realise the rules have now changed but we think every dog should safely be able to run free 🐶

This also works for any other dog who you worry about letting off the lead.

I’d just like to wish all our lovely owners and their pups a fantastic Happy Christmas ♥️🎄🎅 can’t beat Cornwall to get a fab festive photo 😆

We’ve gained some lovely new clients and have amazing loyal puppa’s. ♥️

We’ve also lost some beautiful dogs… so to all their owners without them this Christmas big woofs and hugs. They will be eating Turkey with lots of paw friends ♥️

We really do appreciate all the gifts and treats you’ve all given. ♥️🙏

Personally I’d like to thank vikki , Maisie , Charlotte and Connor. For helping out with the Christmas madness. 🙏♥️

Brush, Brush , Brush….
With the continuing wet weather it is so important to brush your dog even more regularly. We are seeing dogs coming in more matted than normal, so if you want to keep your dog in the normal style it is essential. For many rethinking a shorter style can be a great option.
We have so many owners tell us their dog does not enjoy grooming. No dog is born hating grooming, it’s about creating positive experiences, so early socialisation in a salon to get used to the noises and goings on and brushing at home, so knots and matts do not occur, is an absolute must! . This way brushing is pain free and your dog will have no reason to have anxiety about dog grooming.
Tips for at home grooming,
🐾 Insure you have a good slicker brush and comb
🐾 Make sure you brush up and out from root to tip and can get a comb through .
🐾 If your dog wears a harness extra brushing will be required on all contact points of the harness, so chest and armpit areas etc
🐾 Use a leave in conditioning spray when brushing to prevent coat damage.
🐾 Place your dog on a table, using a rubber Matt to prevent slipping, this will help your dog understand he has a zone where grooming happens, if you have a large dog, place an blanket on the floor in the same location each time.
🐾 groom in short bursts if needed but insure you finish what you are doing if your dog plays up, rather than letting them go straight away.
🐾 do not rub your dog with a towel, this causes friction , which causes matting, squeeze moisture from the coat, brush and leave to dry and then brush again.
🐾 If bathing at home you must insure products are rinsed well and to ideally dry your dog and comb through. Drying in matts makes them constrict tighter.
Remember a dog just wants to be comfortable,
so if short is more practical for the time you can dedicate to grooming and your life style, then they really do not mind. 💜

It is with a heavy heart we have made the decision to cancel today's event due to the extreme weather conditions and the roads immediately around the centre are too treacherous to encourage traffic on. Please keep an eye on our page for alternative festive activities.

We are absolutely devastated to make this decision, as this was a vital fundraising opportunity, and we hoped to raise around £10,000 to fund our vital work for dogs in need, but we simply cannot risk the safety of our staff, volunteers and supporters, and the roads around us are just too risky.

Hello Everyone. ♥️

Just a little housekeeping before we go into Decembers Christmas crazy ness!

Please respect our cancellation policy. 48 hours notice would be great. I post it regularly. We are fully booked and cannot accommodate any spaces now until January. No shows and late cancellations affects any small Business. And has a huge impact. £200 last month alone. 😢🥺 and then ghosted. 😢😢
We do have a waiting list for people who genuinely want their dog grooming. Appreciate some things can’t be helped. But where is the cut of point ? All Dog groomers have one in place now . And most other businesses. So it’s not uncommon.

It’s such a busy time for us. Please appreciate this and bring your dogs on time and collect on time given. 🙏

As much as we love having a chatty chat when you pop into the salon we aren’t being rude we just want to crack on and get through all the pups. 😍

Dogs are coming in needing more attention with it being winter and change in weather. We may take longer to groom your dogs. Also we have extra teamies to help get through them so also may be quicker it depends on the day !

Thank you to those that have also been effected in having to change your Dogs dates. Due to team illness. When we are a groomer down it’s impossible to get through the amount of dogs booked in some days. It’s not what I enjoy doing trust me it’s hard to jiggle dogs and dates ! But you’ve all been fab. 🙏🙏

Please allow time to defrost cars . take dogs for their comfort breaks ,traffic etc. to be able to arrive on time.

The Add on Christmas extras have been popular please let me know before we start your dogs if you want to include this. £5. I’ll post details again over the weekend. About the products being used and what’s included. ♥️

♥️♥️♥️ sailor needs a home 🙏🙏

Oh sailor we ADORE your beautiful face!

My name is sailor and I have a story to tell.

I came from Ireland as a puppy and found myself at the rescue centre. I loved dogs whilst I was there and played with everyone. Everyone said i did these weird behaviours where I looked at the sky alot but I am deaf so had to use my eyes to see planes and birds because my ears just don't work like other peoples do!

Fast forward and I found someone who loved me he took me on adventures but then he had to go away and after 4.5 years of living in a home I once again wasn't wanted and they brought me back to the rescue centre.

The last 6 months or more before I came back was tough. I can't tell the humans what happened because they dont speak my language so they spend everyday trying to figure it out! but I lost weight, became scared of other dogs, l licked my legs raw, bit the fir from the base of my tail and my toes were a real problem!

I felt so sad and anxious and didn't know what was happening so I span backwards and barked alot to try and soothe myself!

When I got back to the rescue I didn't want to be there. The humans are amazing but I had learnt home life and I didn't want to be alone, my whole world had just changed so much in such a short time I had forgotten how to just be outside sniffing around, I forgot what safety and happiness felt like!
I can't hear remember so everything was just happening so quickly.

I had to go to the vets, the lady was nice and gave me cuddles but she also gave this horrible shampoo they said they 'had to use one me IN THE BATH' ok it did soothe the intense irritation from my legs and feet almost immediatley but I was so scared! They gave these weird things for my eyes and some funny tablets. I didn't know they would help me so I tried to hide when it was time for my treatments but the people were kind and so was I, even though i really wanted them to leave me alone, i made sure not to shout or hurt them I just tried to get away!

After my walks, cuddles and fusses with my new people in the kennels they would try to put me back for a rest but I just wasn't ready to be alone so I would fight and squirm and try to hide in corners, that would always mean they would come into my kennel with me and give me cuddles to calm me it was scary everytime and sometimes would take 30 minutes to calm me with a cuddle after I was in.

Now fast forward 4 months. My kennel is actually nice they give me a big bed and a huge quilt to hide my head under when I am sleepy, we go for lovely walks and runs, I have sniffed 3 different dogs through a fence (tedi is my favourotist) I'm not ready to be with other dogs yet they can still be super scary. My legs, feet and tail no longer itch and the people say I look handsome with all my fir back.

I love all of the visitors that come to the kennels and giving kisses and cuddles is my favourite thing in the whole world! There are 2 children that live here and they love me maybe more then the big people one is smaller the big people say she is 6 and the other one is 11!
We have lots of cuddles and the big one has taught me lots of new things like how to lay down, touch my nose on her hand and sit. She loves it when I follow her and she always gives me tasty treats!

I am ready for a home to call my own now! I want someone that will love me as much as these people do, that will understand that I can't hear so sometimes don't do what people expect dogs to do, I can't hear myself if I do bark so it can sometimes be extra loud and i will bark if i see another dog because they are super scary if i dont know them! but I bark much less when I am settled, calm and feel safe.

I still spin sometimes when I am off the lead in a safe area but I am much better at 'just being a dog' now the kind people here have reminded me what that is.

I ALWAYS go to the humans when they pick my lead or harness up I LOVE having them put on they always means something amazing!

I am looking for someone kind and patient that will make me feel safe and help me to navigate this scary world that doesn't have any other animals I'm just not ready for sharing space with another animal!
