Is it worth it?
==========
BRB alarms are a local company that prides itself in providing a cost effective quality alarm at a competitive price. The founder of BRB Alarms spent 30 years as a Police officer before working in Industry as a Security Manager. His roles have involved some high risk security environments, including Maritime and Aviation. He has seen at first hand the long lasting devastation and upset an act of Burglary can bring both in the home and business environment; alarms can never guarantee you won't get Burgled, but the majority of burglars will avoid properties protected by an alarm, instead choosing a more vulnerable location. As technology has progressed, fitting an alarm to your property needn't involve routing cables around rooms. There are now a number of reliable and simple to use wireless systems than can be fitted in less than a day. Wireless alarms do away with the need to route cables, instead using a radio signal to keep your property secure. In addition to providing an external audible bell box, all our installations provide the ability for at least 3 nominated key holder numbers to be contacted automatically by the alarm panel in the event of activation. These are nominated by you, and can be easily updated and changed by the user. All fitted alarms are from reputable suppliers, and installed to recognised B.S EN 50131. Standards, which now cover wired and wireless installations. BRB Alarms can offer both 'wired' and 'wireless' bespoke solutions to protect your property. Why can't you quote me over the phone?

BRB alarms offer a free no quibble, no obligation security assessment of your property. We are different from some other alarm companies, we are locally based and offer a truly personal service. The founder has years of experience involving asset protection; our assessments will be based on threat, risk and over all vulnerability of the site. The solutions need to be proportionate and ultimately cost effective. Your home or business is unique; it may have specific vulnerable points, and the layout, type of pets or numbers of occupants all influence the type of alarm or solutions you require. However we also live in the real world and recognise your available budget will always play a major part in any decisions. That's why BRB alarms will always strive to find the most cost effective solution for your budget, ensuring you get maximum value for money.

We specialise in:
=============
Three Alarm Types
================
BRB Alarms primarily use 3 alarm panels, Yale, Visonic and Honeywell providing the flexibility for reliable systems in both Domestic and Small commercial environments. Like all local companies, we value our reputation. That's why we use trusted brands and suppliers. All our products, installations and wireless technologies are to the recognised European Standards; something you won’t always achieve with unknown brands sold on web auction sites. Yale, Visonic or Honeywell?
=====================
•Yale The Yale range offers the starting point in our solutions. This is a well known brand and is simple to use. It uses wireless technology so installation times and costs are minimised, and there are limited cable installations. These alarms are extremely flexible, and can be adapted for homes with pets, allowing the panel to be connected to an ordinary home landline telephone, informing up to 3 key holders in the event of any activation. This is in addition to the external bell box and internal control panel sirens.
•Visonic The Visonic range is the next step up from the Yale products. This is a grade 2 intruder alarm working from a highly adaptable wireless panel. It comes as standard with remote fobs, wireless pet tolerant sensors and door contact. Sensors can be easily added to the panel for better coverage. A built in communicator provides key holder notification via home landline. The panel can be adapted to work with proximity fobs, for easy arming and disarming, removing the tell tale ‘code’ wear and tear on key pad buttons. A GSM upgrade, using a mobile sim card, is available where landline telephone use is impractical or nonexistent.
•Honeywell Honeywell are a well known alarm panel, established for years. This product provides a wired solution for home and office protection. This is a more labour intensive installation and requires the routing of cables around the home to each sensor and contact. Again this solution is as flexible as the wireless Visonic, and Yale with multiple zones, although starting as a simple wired intruder alarm. It has the ability to add telephone communicators for key holder notification. All 3 alarms have personal attack facility for instant alarm by the occupant while in the home.

Frequently asked Questions
======================
Will my pets set the alarm off?
=======================
You can have ‘pet tolerant’ detectors fitted to reduce this possibility. These detectors are slightly more expensive than normal detectors, ensure you mention you have pets during the survey and the design of the system will meet your needs. Can I set the system at night when I’m in bed? You can have your alarm ‘zoned’ in such a way that you can get up in the night to use the toilet or get a glass of water. This can be designed in to meet the layout of your home. Your system can be programmed as ‘full set’ for when you go out and leave the dwelling unoccupied, ‘home set’ for when you go to bed (which will switch off a few detectors to enable you to visit, say, the bathroom). Most things are possible! What are the common causes of false alarms?
===================================
They are many and varied and include:
•Failure to regularly maintain or service the system
•Wrong door entered, i.e. failure to enter the building via the designated alarm entry route
•Failing back-up battery - often revealed during a power cut.
•Insecure or loose fitting door or window – often revealed during high winds
•Failure to practice good housekeeping, i.e. not securing the dwelling correctly before going out or user error. How long does it take to install an alarm to the

average home?

A wired alarm can be a more expensive option as it is generally labour intensive routing the cables around the home. Wireless systems take a lot less time to install and can often take less than half a day on the more simple installations. What our customers say
