** UPDATE**

***Thank you for reaching out in regard to Sally. We have been overwhelmed with a lot of offers of loving homes for her and we can't thank everyone enough.

We have now found a home for Sally, and she is being picked up this morning ***

Update on 'Sally' the strays journey - We would like to thank everyone for reaching out to check on our lovely elderly girl who we've affectionately named 'Sally'. Since being handed in Sally has shown herself to be an extremely affectionate girl who loves cuddles and fuss which we have gladly been giving to her.
When Sally was first brought to us it was very clear that she needed a lot of love.
She was covered in a significant amount of matts and was very hungry and thirsty.
When a stray animal that needs medical attention is brought to us they first get a vet check. Sally was carefully checked over by our head vet Chalotte and a medical plan was made for Sally.
We ran a blood test to check that Sally didn't have anything sinister underlying and were pleased when it came back within normal limits.
Despite her appearance, Sally has a very healthy appetite and is very bright in herself. We checked her ears, eyes, nose and mouth and gave her a good clean up (she soon got dirty again when she enthusiastically eats her dinner).
We have been closely monitoring Sally over the last 7 days, checking her eating, drinking and urinary outputs and have been pleased with her progress.
We have put Sally on a bit of pain relief to keep her comfortable.
Sally has been with us for a 7 days now and no-one has come forward to claim her.
Unfortunately the animal shelters we have contacted do not have space for her so we are reaching out to see if one of our past/present clients can give Sally a loving home to live out her remaining time.
Ideally Sally needs to be the only cat in a indoor quiet home with someone with a lot of love to give. (No dogs).
If you feel you could be the home for Sally, please email us on [email protected].

Toxins your pet should avoid in autumn 🍁🍂

Autumn Pet Toxins: Acorns
Acorns are also a choking hazard and can cause intestinal damage if ingested whole. Signs of acorn poisoning to look for include vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain and dehydration. In rare cases, untreated incidents of acorn poisoning have led to kidney and liver failure, so always speak to your vet as soon as possible if you suspect your pet has ingested acorns.

Hip dysplasia is a developmental condition in dogs. This is usually due to genetic predisposition and the dysplasia develops or worsens as the dog grows.
Hip dysplasia can occur in any breed of dog. It is typically associated with large breeds such as Labradors, German Shepherds, Rottweilers and Saint Bernards, but is increasingly being diagnosed in smaller breeds such as French Bulldogs.

Toxins your pet should avoid in autumn 🍂🍁

Autumn Pet Toxins: Horse Chestnuts (conkers)
The toxic ingredient in conkers is also found in the leaves and bark of the tree, so keep an eye out to make sure your pet doesn't eat these either. Conkers are also a choking hazard, and can potentially cause bowel obstructions if swallowed whole, which may require emergency surgery.
Signs to look for in your pet include vomiting and diarrhoea, excessive drooling, excessive thirst or reduced appetite. In severe cases, ingestion can cause muscle tremors or seizures.
