And to the opposite age end, this is 21 year old Gizzi. Her owner has always rehomed the elderly cats that are often overlooked. Gizzi found this lovely home a few years ago and despite her age, leads a happy, quiet life.

I began looking after this beautiful cat from a kitten. The owners chose her and named her Gracie. It became apparent as Gracie got older that in fact she was a he so a new name was chosen. Meet Bertie, a real sweetie but a nightmare to photograph.

This pretty girl is Martha. She came from Greece as a rescue but the environment of living in a pound with other dogs of all sizes made her wary and defensive. Because I walk one to one she wasn't getting the socialisation she really needed to change this, so Brad from Bradley's Pet Services stepped in. He slowly introduced her to other dogs and she is now less bothered and enjoys playing and walking with her new friends.
And I still get to take her out when needed.

This is Spike who is nearly 17 and one of my elderly customers. He's quite frail now and on various medications but a happy chap who still loves his food and a cuddle. I hold my oldies very dear to me as they require that extra tender loving care. He gets whatever he wants including breakfast served to him in bed every morning.

The picture on the left here is of Sammy the parakeet, a gentle bird who's no trouble.
The two on the right show George the parrot and a pair of knitted gloves, and requires no explanation 🙄

This coming week brings in around 150 visits to everything from parrots, chickens, mostly cats and my usual dog walks. I look forward to introducing some of these great pets to you (if they will keep still long enough for a photo). Have a good week everybody 😻

I want to pay a tribute to Fonz, this very handsome Staffie. His owners contacted me when they got him as a puppy. He became a regular fixture in my life and me in his as I walked him regularly. This boy was the most gentle dog, I could take anything out of his mouth he shouldn't have, he was loving and absolutely hated the rain refusing to go out when it did.
Sadly at the age of 12, his family had to say goodbye yesterday and he leaves a huge hole in their lives. It was an honour to be part of his life for so.long. Run pain-free over rainbow Bridge darling boy, RIP Fonz💔

This dear boy is Jacob. His circumstances were traumatic and suffice to say he had no reason to ever trust a human again. He was rescued and treated, and then along came his wonderful new owners. With love and patience he gained confidence and trust. When I first started looking after him I'd have to lie on the floor and talk to him while he hid under the bed.
This is us now, he melts my heart. ❤

This cheeky chap is Charlie. Anyone who knows African Grey parrots will be aware they tend to be a one person pet and become protective of that owner. Sadly I do not fall into this category. I was looking after him and he decided to torment me, puffing himself up and racing after me from one end of the cage to the other while I was trying to feed and water him without leaving my fingers through the bars for too long.
Luckily a customer who kept large birds came to my rescue. Problem solved!

Meet Archie. Archie has always had his freedom to the outdoors when his owners were away but has managed to either get injured or go AWOL. He's even had a sleepover at mine so I could check on him when he was poorly. As a result of the stress he's caused his owners and myself he is now grounded for holidays.

Went in todo a visit one morning and noticed a rabbit sunbathing out on the front lawn by the road looking remarkably like one of them.
Only it was! That was fun trying to catch a very cross escape artist.
