Let’s see if we can actually get there this time 🙈🤣

I’ll see you all the week before Christmas (At last count that was 50 of you)! 😯 I’d probably better lay off the 🥂 and 🥘. Here’s hoping the stomach copes 😝

See you all soon!

How beautiful is Ruby 😍

Ruby has been referred to us by End Cottage Veterinary Clinic after recently undergoing lateral suture surgery to stabilise a ruptured cruciate. 🪡

In cases like Ruby’s there’s often a history of limping on a hind leg which seems to resolve with pain relief and a few days rest. 🥴

What we don’t see is that these repeated episodes of limping are actually repetitive microtraumas which weaken the ligament over time. 😞 The ligament itself is not dissimilar to a fraying rope, where little bits peel away over time making it less stable and prone to damage.

Certain breeds are unfortunately more likely to experience this as a result of genetics or conformation. Activities like repetitive ball chasing 🥎 and slipping on laminate/wooden flooring also contribute!

Luckily Ruby’s owners did their research and after discussions with their vet, came to us for her rehabilitation. We are looking forward to seeing how this lovely lady progresses 😊

Ernie was referred to us just two weeks after spinal surgery to help with his rehabilitation 🐾

This little lad has been through an awful lot and his particular case of IVDD was quite painful for him.😞 Understandably, he’s a little wary of new people after his experience.

Luckily for Ernie, Kelly is a qualified Canine Behaviourist, so we were able to take everything at his pace. By the end of the session Kelly had a complete face wash tongue 👅 💦 🤣

By taking time to get to know your dog, taking things at their pace and not pushing them out of their comfort zone, we build up a mutual trusting relationship where dogs literally skip down the path to see us! 😊

Ernie definitely called the shots in his first session (I know, shock horror from a Frenchie)!🙈🤣. By the second he zoomed straight over and was happy to completely cooperate with with his exercises and massage.

Looking forward to seeing him in the Underwater Treadmill for his next session💦

I bet you’ve all been wondering what I’ve been up to this week……

I’ve been away in Spain working with CRAR Centre de Rehabilitació Animal de Referència.
This centre of excellence for small animal rehabilitation is the brainchild of Marina and is one of the first of its kind in Europe! 🐾

Marina’s team of vets, nurses and assistants are some of the most passionate, experienced and knowledgeable people I have met in Small Animal Rehabilitation. 😍🩵

The INDIBA machine I’m pictured with plays a huge part in their rehabilitation plans (and mine). I am proud to have had the first machine for small animals in Yorkshire for over 18 months now, and prouder still that I am now an advanced practitioner 🙌

I have witnessed and assisted in a variety of complex orthopedic and neurological cases over the past week. Returning to the UK, I have wealth of new knowledge which I can now use to enhance my rehabilitation assessment and plans. 👌

If you want to be the best you need to train, learn from and collaborate with the best💪. I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to work with this team and can’t wait for our next date! 😍

ps…….I was working so long I didn’t even get chance to top up my tan! ☀️ 🙄🤣

This super handsome boy was referred to us after suspected Fibrocartilaginous Embolism (FCE).

Perry’s mum knows a thing or two about the importance of timely rehabilitation intervention, organising a referral to us within days of his injury.

He came for his Initial Assessment yesterday and was such a good boy!😊

Looking forward to seeing his rehabilitation journey with our team 🐾🩷

🩷💙 The Happiest of Goodbyes 💙🩷

Fig was referred to me a few months ago with IVDD, which we conservatively managed with physio and underwater treadmill sessions. 💦

He is now the strongest he has ever been and you would never know he had a spinal problem 💪.

Today is a little bittersweet as we have worked towards getting Fig back to full strength and mobility ready for his move abroad 😭

In today’s session we put together a maintenance plan for him to follow in his new home, and he posed perfectly for the camera with his little teefies 🦷.

I’ve loved working with you little man!

Bye Bye Fig 👋

🎶 Uh-Oh, we’re in trouble, Storm Lilians’s come along and burst our hydro 💦 bubble 🎶

Power has been off since early this morning and most of our clients are also affected in their homes😞

We are rescheduling morning appointments to tomorrow and will be in touch with our afternoon and evening clients with an update at lunch time.

Stay safe out there 💨

I’ve had a huge influx of new clients enquiries over the past few months, and have been so busy that I had to limit how many I could take on (after all, there are only so many hours in a day and I’m getting old) 🤣

Huge thanks to the local (and far) physio’s who have stepped in to support my clients 🥰

The good news is that as of of 4th September, I have more availability for new clients AND can see those of you that stayed on the waiting list 🙈🐾😊

🐾 If you are on the waiting list ~ we can get you booked in as early as next week!
🐾 New Clients I have availability from 4th September

Also, you know how I LOVE Welshies ~ how beautiful is Amber who came for her Initial Assesmsent today 😍

The hardest part about my job, without doubt, is saying goodbye 😢 💔 🌈

I’ll miss your wagging tail during physio, and you pushing Morgy out of the way so you could be first to have a massage.

I’ve been away for a few days helping out at VOACON 2024. 😊

Run by the Veterinary Osteoarthritis Alliance, it’s a huge networking and CPD event where we share the latest research and ideas in OA management.

I have had an absolute blast with some good Bet Physio friends Tace Allen Sports Injury & Veterinary Physiotherapy, HVP - Helen Vaughan PhysioVet, Becca Vet Physio, MB Veterinary Physiotherapy ~ thanks for making it such fun! 🍸💃👩‍🎓🐾👌🤣

Normal clinic days and service (replying to messages being top of the list 🙈) will resume tomorrow!

🩵🩷🐾 Meet Lulu 🐾🩷🩵

This gorgeous Giant Schnauzer has been back to see me for a review today. We’ve been working closely with Abbey Canine Massage Therapy as part of her rehabilitation plan to address areas of muscular tension.

There’s a huge improvement in Lulu and I’m pleased to say she’s now off for regular maintenance massages alongside working with her trainer.

Working together with your vet and other professionals, we can achieve the best results for your dog! 🐾

One week down, one to go! 🏖️

It has been incredible so far and allowed me to completely switch off. I didn’t realise just how much I needed this break! ☺️

I’ll reply to all messages to book clients in when I return next week.

He’s a new kid on the block and FULL of typical Staffy energy and happiness (which can prove challenging to treat sometimes) 🙈🤣

He’s been seeing me for a few weeks now after TPLO surgery and has just started his hydrotherapy journey Yorkshire Canine Therapy Centre - Hydrotherapy Treatment.

He’s doing really well and we can’t wait to see him back to full fitness!

💕 My Valentine 💕

I’ve have shared my life with 5 dogs so far, and Mr B was the only ‘non-rescue’ dog. He was a flipping nightmare puppy; eating batteries and notably, chewing my Vuitton bag🙈 (which was less than a week old). Luckily for me LV replaced the bag FOC!

From 12 weeks old he came to work with me and taught lots of students how to health check/groom/do first aid. He loved being around students and showered with attention. 😊

He was VERY spicy around other entire males 🙄🤣

Such a character, he was full of fun and mischief and trusted me implicitly - a real mummy’s boy! 💕

Six years ago today he had his last play date with the Collared Creatures girls, before we said our final goodbyes and he peacefully crossed rainbow bridge🥹 🌈

They leave a real lasting impression on you don’t they? I remember crying for weeks and weeks over this boy. Now I can finally look back and laugh about his antics! 🤭

I have been a little quiet on socials whilst travelling across Yorkshire treating your dogs.

I just wanted to pop on and say thank you to each and every one of my clients for your support this year. I absolutely love my job and your dogs 💕

Wishing you all health and happiness for 2024!✨

AND, If you have any pics of NYE with your dogs feel free to share them 😊
