Who is telling people to clip their horse's legs with trimmers?

We've had a massive uptick in posts where people have used trimmers without guard combs to clip their horses legs. DON'T DO IT! You're not just making your horse bald, you're scratching their legs up, making them sore and risking serious infections such as cellulitis... And what is an infection in a CPL leg? An emergency 🏥 ❗️

CLIPPERS FOR CLIPPING
TRIMMERS FOR TRIMMING

Trimmers without guard combs can leave not even a millimeter of hair, basically surgically clipping your horse as if they were going for an operation or scan at the vets. But they're not at the vets - which would be a clean, sterile environment! They're at your yard which is not clean.

You've got two options if you've done it:

1. Find a high factor, zinc oxide based sunscreen and hope it works without messing up the skin or making sores too wet
2. Keep your horse indoors til the hair recovers

You should speak to your vet for their advice on aftercare.

Novas (or whatever cheap dog trimmer you've bought) are fantastic little machines for TRIMMING and we love them for creating blends using the guard combs and variable blade lengths. THEY ARE NOT FOR CLIPPING YOUR HORSES LEGS.

✅️ Both with the Liveryman wide fine 2.4mm or 4.8mm blades.

I can't wait to pack all my equipment into this bag. There are so many compartments!!!
It also has a tough plastic bottom so it will withstand alot of use.
Its so practical, with zips to secure the main bag, handles and a shoulder strap for easy carrying.
