STATEMENT FROM CHARLOTTE DUJARDIN

A video has emerged from four years ago which shows me making an error of judgement during a coaching session. Understandably, the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) is investigating and I have made the decision to withdraw from all competition – including the Paris Olympics – while this process takes place.

What happened was completely out of character and does not reflect how I train my horses or coach my pupils, however there is no excuse. I am deeply ashamed and should have set a better example in that moment.

I am sincerely sorry for my actions and devastated that I have let everyone down, including Team GB, fans and sponsors.

I will cooperate fully with the FEI, British Equestrian Federation and British Dressage during their investigations, and will not be commenting further until the process is complete.

*Everyday blindness*

We all find it hard to notice slight changes on a daily basis. It’s easy for us to see changes in a shoeing or trimming cycle. We are seeing a steady rise in overweight fluffys, substantially high numbers suffering from laminitis or health issues directly linked to obesity.

- girths not fitting
- letting out rug straps
- lack of performance
- breathing issues
- saddles not fitting

The list of signs are endless, if you’re experiencing things like this take a step back and look at your fluffy. If you can’t see any defining anatomical landmarks, the fluffy is to fat.

Do something before it’s too late. Dont make excuses. Your fluffy needs you 🫵

He had his feathers off and mane, tail and jawline tidied up. His owner didn't want his tail to be too tight so we just did the edges.

This lovely little lady needed clipping because she was getting too hot and itchy with the thick coat that she was hanging onto.

Little did we know but after just one stroke of the clippers we found she was hiding loads of little friends!! 🪳😷

We then gave her a hunter clip and hogged her aswell, this will enable her owner to give her the proper treatment and make sure that all her little friends are evicted!!!

They are easily treated and there is no shame at all in finding out your horse/pony has lice. With the weather being cold 1 minute and hot the next, rugs on and off and are poor horses not knowing whether to hold onto their coats or not they can easily go undetected.

🐴Dear old Fizzy💫

We were not sure how today was going to go! Her owner had warned me that fizzy would probably need sedating to be clipped because she had needed it previously. Being 20+ yrs old she was very set in her ways!!

I arrived and introduced myself to her and had a variety of machines to see how she would react. I turned on 1 of the machines and fizzy immediately tried to get away, walk straight over me, drag me around and generally do everything in her power to get as far away as possible (she had clearly done this in the past and knew what she was doing!! 🤣)

So with a little more gentle handling and a bit of pressure and release work I was able to get her to finally stand still, then I started moving the clippers towards her, taking them away again and always rewarding a positive response. Eventually I was able to start clipping.

As you can see from the video all my patience and positive reassurance paid off because I was then able to clip her without being tied up and she was very happy to just stand there and actually enjoyed it. (Although she didn't want to admit it!!! 🤭)

I couldn't do this without having my wonderful Liveryman machines, they are perfect for this kind of situation.

Fizzy will now feel alot better without that cushing's coat making her uncomfortable.

🌙 M***a had a very small tidy up. She gets shown in her natural state so just a quick tidy of her mane, jawline and tail so she looks smart but not trimmed. 💫

🐴Just letting everyone know that I'm still here and taking bookings for July. I've been quiet due to a few things but now its onwards and upwards.

🔹️clipping - wide range of clips that will fit your horses needs and work load. I carry a selection of machines so I can clip with or without electric. I also clip for welfare purposes, this can include cushings, skin conditions, lice and CPL.

🔹️mane and tail tidy's - I use a few methods to tidy manes and tails. Not everyone likes the traditional pulling methods.

🔹️trimming - jaw lines, ears, bridal path, fetlocks and full feather removal.

🔹️blending - feathers can be removed and blended into the natural coat length or clips can be blended for that unclipped look.

🔹️plaiting - I use bands or thread depending on what you prefer. (Lessons also given)

🧹yard/holiday cover - mucking out, bring in and turn out, rug change, fill haynets, making up feeds, skipping out and general yard tidy ups.

💩poo picking - paddocks or whole fields, arena's, helping you to keep on top of your field maintenance.
