A beautiful hand strip to the start of the Easter Weekend!

This traditional technique involves pulling the dead hair out by hand, leaving a short healthy coat underneath! This is only used on certain breeds to keep their wiry coat in the most natural state.

🐶 Muddy paws 🐶

How terrible is this weather lately!?

Very muddy fields can cause a nightmare for your dogs paws. Mud sticks to hairs and causes great discomfort in between your dogs pads.

Getting them clipped out reduces the chance of mud and debris buildup and also results in an easier and quicker clean down back in your home!

This is my handsome boy, Dobby.
We rescued him 4 years ago and he is well and truly part of the family.
Dobby is 7 years old and a mix of Labrador and Bloodhound so he has a great sniffer on him! You may see us out and about in the Dales as we both love to walk.
Dobby's favourite thing to do is eat everything in sight!

The Importance of Puppy Grooms!

Beautiful Lady came in today for a puppy groom. Puppy grooms are designed to slowly introduce a dog to the noises and equipment of the grooming salon. The younger the dog being introduced, the better the adjustment they have. We made it a fun experience with lots of cosy towels and breaks. Lady enjoyed it so much she fell asleep half way through!

Teddy the Lakeland Terrier!
He went for a pet trim to help keep him knot free in the winter months.
I was able to put back in his characteristic breed 'brick' head too so we can keep his traditional look.

Handstripping!

This is a method i use to pull the wirey hairs from the coat to give a natural finish.

This can only be done on certain breeds and is the traditional alternative to clipping the coat.

Here is the beautiful Nellie who has been stripped today. No scissors or clippers were used on her, just the handstripping method which has left behind a gorgeous smooth coat!
