Grain House Barn Grooming & Home Boarding for Dogs
Hi. I’m Anna and this is my story to achieving my dream of being the owner of Grain House Barn Grooming and Home Boarding for Dogs.
I’ve always loved dogs, having been brought up with them since I was a baby. It took a while for me to actually have my own but once we’d started we somehow managed to go from one to four in less than three years! We have four Lhasa Apsos and they are huge personalities in our home.
I’ve been boarding dogs at home for a few years. I trained to groom in 2017 at a grooming academy in Bristol. The timing was perfect as it coincided with mine and my husband’s move to the Yorkshire Dales, where we have a barn and croft. The barn is beautiful and is a dog friendly space. The croft is large enough for dogs to run around and is fully secure. One of the stables has become my grooming room.
My aim is to provide the best service for dog and owner and for the dog to go home chilled and content. Any dog in my care will mix with our dogs and, in the case of home boarding, will live with us in our home. They’ll be one of the family, doing the things our dogs do. Dogs will be loved and cared for as if they were our own and I’ll make appropriate adjustments for temperaments and personalities.
I’ve a calm approach to looking after dogs, whether it be during boarding or if they’re here to be groomed. Their welfare is my priority during their time with me and I endeavour to provide love and reassurance throughout. I’m happy to cater for specialist diets and administer medications where necessary. I want any dog in my care to feel loved and have lots of fun.
