Heidi’s sister Emmalie had littered this morning . 3 lovely babies , sadly she had pr*****ed 😣 and has lost a lot of blood . I have managed to push her uterus back in , anyone wanting advice on this can DM me ….
I’ve given her vit c , sugar water , osteocare liquid and metatone . She is very weak so keeping everything crossed for her . Luckily Heidi is caring for the babies with her own but I think 6 will be a huge challenge for her , I will be helping with feeds if necessary .

Heidi finally went in to labour this afternoon while I was cleaning out . I kept an eye on her and made a note of the time . It was clear after a while that things were not progressing as they should . Intervention was needed , I eventually got hold of a foot , baby was coming back feet first ! When she finally came out she needed some reviving . Number two was coming the right way round but seemed to get stuck for quite some time 😣 Finally I was able to find her teeth with my fingernail and helped her in to the world , she also needed lots of help to get going . Number three came on his own but also needed reviving . Nos 4 and 5 sadly didn’t make it as they had been held up by the first 3 .
I’m so glad I was there to help as I don’t think she’d have any live babies if I hadn’t .
Heidi was exhausted but after a short rest she was gobbling her food down so hopefully her and her three babies will be fine .
I will try to get some pictures tomorrow 😊💜💜🩵

A couple of weeks ago , three of my older ladies went off to live the rest of their days in a wonderful retirement herd . I had an update today to let me know how well they have settled in . Here are some pics I was sent , I’m so happy they have settled in so well….

I had a lovely day yesterday at Kent CC show . I had the pleasure of judging some of the novelty classes which was great fun ?
A big thank you to Sophie Barnard & her wonderful team for making it such an enjoyable day out for everyone !
My pigs did me proud , just missing out on the top spots but came home with lots of prize cards 😊 I took 2 first timers who both won their class , my u/5 sow then came 3rd in the sow challenge out of 18 . My smooth u/5 sow came 2nd in the AV challenge out of 33 . In 5/8 challenge my rough sow was 2nd out of 21 😊
Delphinium had a good day wining a class of 11 & was placed 3rd in the adult challenge out of 57 , she was also 3rd Veteran , 1st in the friendliest cavy adult section & 2nd over all in the challenge .
Well done to all the winners & especially to Sue Francis with her BIS 🎉

We had a lovely day at Canterbury & coast cc today .
Radish won a huge class of 15 ! Then went on to win the adult challenge & 3rd adult owned pet 🎉 Salvia also won a huge class of 12 adult rough sows ! ( sadly her rosette went astray 🙄 ) . Lots of other placings and then Lotus Blossom won best veteran out of 21 ! 🎉
Thank you to Ann for my lunch & congrats to all other winners , Kelly Rider for her BIS 🎉
Julie Wells for best adult owned pet & Marina Tomlins for 2nd 🎉🎉

Wow ! What an amazing day with the pigs yesterday 🏵️🥇🥈🥉
My fabulous Delphinium ( adult rough sow ) did it at last 🎉 after many reserve & 3rd places she took top spot , she showed her socks off , so proud of her 💜🤍🩶 Then Hazel ( bred by Louise Stinton ) was best 5/8 & reserve pet . Ixia was 2nd 5/8 & 3rd over all .
So final results were 1,2,3 adult challenge , 1,2,3 5/8 challenge & little Chestnut at her first show was 3rd u/5 .
Thank you to Sue & the team for a lovely well run show as always & well done to all the winners 🎉

This is a post I made a couple of years ago . Hopefully the weather will improve very soon but when it does please bear this in mind ……..
I know the weather is very nice & it seems that spring has sprung 🐥🐸🌷🌹 but please don’t put your guinea pigs on the grass yet 🥶 the ground is still very cold . It takes a long time to warm up enough , if you’re not sure take off your socks & shoes ( as guinea pigs have bare feet ) & stand on the grass for a while . Personally I don’t put mine out until end of April at the earliest & only if we’ve had plenty of sun to warm the earth up 😉😊
