First up was Bruce, the superstar Border Terrier. At 13, he’s an absolute hero and enjoyed every second of his pamper and Winter Spa treat—what a champ! "Winter Paw Care: Protecting Your Pup’s Precious Paws ❄️🐾💜"

Winter walks can be magical, but did you know your dog’s paws are extra sensitive to cold, ice, and grit during this season? A dog’s paw pads are tough, but they’re not immune to the harsh effects of winter weather. Here’s how you can help keep their paws healthy and comfortable:

1️⃣ Watch for Grit & Salt: While essential for keeping roads safe, grit and salt can irritate your dog’s paws. After walks, rinse their feet with warm water to remove any residue and prevent soreness.

2️⃣ Prevent Cracks: Cold, dry weather can lead to cracked paw pads, which can be painful for your dog. Keep their paws moisturised with a dog-safe balm to prevent drying and cracking.

3️⃣ Trim Fur Between Pads: Snow and ice can clump in the fur between paw pads, causing discomfort. Regularly trimming this fur helps avoid painful build-ups during snowy walks.

4️⃣ Check Paws Regularly: Keep an eye out for cuts, redness, or any signs of irritation after walks. A quick check goes a long way in catching issues early.

"Frosty Outside, Fabulous Inside at Love to Paws! ❄️🐾💜"

Despite the chill in the air, it’s been a day full of warmth and wagging tails at Love to Paws!

First up was the amazing Lenny, who absolutely loved his Winter Spa Package—he left looking dashing and smelling divine. Then came Zorro, the very handsome 17-year-old who popped in for a nail trim. He handled it like a pro, as always! The lovely Albie was back for his New Year groom, and he was all smiles and happy vibes throughout. Rounding off the day was the beautiful Fern, in for her regular pamper and, of course, a Winter Spa treat. What an incredible lineup of pups (and their equally wonderful owners)!

"Terrific Tuesday at Love to Paws! 🐾❄️💜"

Today was filled with incredible dogs and plenty of New Year vibes in the salon!

First up were the gorgeous Daisy and Maia, back for their New Year grooms. Both were absolute superstars as always, and it was a joy to see them looking fresh and fabulous for 2025.

Then came Barney for his third session on the Puppy Pawfection Package. It’s truly amazing to see how far he has come already—gaining confidence and getting more relaxed each time. For me, walks with Marnie are one of the highlights of my day. It’s our little slice of calm before or after a busy day at Love to Paws. Seeing her tail wag as she sniffs every little scent and explores her surroundings always reminds me how simple joys are often the best ones. 💜

I had the pleasure of welcoming Lui, an adorable but nervous Cockapoo, into the Love to Paws family today. He absolutely melted my heart and left looking fantastic after his groom. Later, the ever-gorgeous Buddy the Pomeranian came in for his regular pamper—what a star he always is!

I also started two exciting Emmi-Pet teeth-cleaning trials with Layla and Dorothy, both of whom did brilliantly.

I couldn’t ask for a better way to kick off the year. Let’s make 2025 full of wagging tails, sparkling coats, and happy pups!

"Story Time: 3 Things I Do to Keep My Dog’s Coat in Tip-Top Condition! 🐾💜"

As a dog groomer, I know just how important it is to stay on top of coat care—not just for your dogs, but for my own dog too. My Cavapoochon, Marnie, is my inspiration for Love to Paws, and keeping her coat healthy, clean, and tangle-free is a big part of our daily routine. Here are 3 simple but effective things I do to keep her coat looking and feeling its best:

1️⃣ Daily Check of Her Coat 🧐
Every day, I check Marnie’s coat for any little surprises she might have picked up on walks. These can easily get caught in her fur, especially around her paws, ears, and armpits. Left unnoticed, they can cause irritation or even matting, so a quick daily check makes all the difference.

2️⃣ Daily Brushing & Weekly Comb Through 🪮
A slicker brush is my go-to for daily brushing. It removes loose fur, prevents tangles, and keeps her coat smooth. But once a week, I go in with a comb to check for any sneaky knots that might be hiding underneath. Combing gets right down to the roots, which brushing alone can sometimes miss. This little routine stops tangles from turning into full-on matting.

3️⃣ Regular Foot Washes & Drying 🚿
Wet paws = dirty floors, but it can also mean trouble for your dog’s coat and skin. After muddy walks, I give Marnie’s feet a gentle wash using dog-friendly shampoo and make sure to carefully dry between her toes. Why? Because damp paws can cause irritation or, worse, fungal infections. Clean, dry paws = happy, healthy feet!

These small, everyday habits make a big difference in keeping Marnie’s coat healthy and mat-free. They’re simple, quick, and help me spot any issues before they turn into bigger problems. And of course, she still gets her regular pamper sessions in the salon too—because every dog deserves a little extra love.
