News from the RAIN animal welfare team:

We have had a fantastic few weeks with lots of our adult cats and kittens going off to their forever homes. Some haven't even made it onto our website as we have had new owners ready and waiting for their perfect kitty to come into our care.

This was the case for MICKEY and MINNIE. A beautiful pair of black and white 5-month old kittens, who, due to severe allergies in their home, came to RAIN. A wonderful family had contacted us wanting to rehome a pair of older kittens. Magic was worked resulting in a perfect match. Mickey and Minnie are settling into their new home really well.

Several strays have been taken into local vets and are now in our care. This includes HAZEL (recently reserved) a heavily pregnant young female who, while at the vets, gave birth to a gorgeous kitten. Also RUBY a 10-week old kitten handed in as a stray. However in the last couple of days she has been offered a wonderful home.

A swift success story is that of a stunning tabby male found abandoned in an unoccupied property. He already has a prospective new owner!

Very sadly, we have taken in four young kittens whose mother was involved in a fatal road accident. They are now in the care of an amazing foster mum. All the babies are doing really well. THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE TO RESERVE SOON. We do still have a waiting list with around 20 more cats waiting to come in.

In the meantime, we continue helping with the cost of neutering cats, dogs and small furries.

We are currently also offering help to a family with a young puppy who has broken both his front legs and a dog who needs his eye enucleated.

Your continued support means so much to us, whether it be through rehoming, sharing our posts, recommending us to friends or visiting our page and website and sending hearts to the current cats in our care,. Thank you.

One year old MOCHA is on the lookout for her special loving indoor home where she can be the only cat. She is used to living with dogs though.

We would like to give a massive shout out and thank you to the wonderful cattery who care for our adult cats.

Karen and Stephan (the owners) and their team spend endless time and care looking after our cats. Not only making them feel at home but giving extra cuddles and love when needed and spending so much of their time showing prospective new owners the cats that need a new home.

Our cats thrive under their care and without them we could not continue rehoming. This year especially, we have had so many cats looking for new homes and they play a pivotal role in the rehoming process. Thank you from everyone at RAIN.

Please help our amazing charity

A plea from the animal welfare team at RAIN

We currently have some beautiful cats for rehoming, both in our cattery and with our wonderful foster families. But, we sadly have over 40 cats on our waiting list needing to come into our care.

The cats on our waiting list are either being supported by us in their current homes by means of food and veterinary care or are in emergency care with kind veterinary staff or emergency foster carers.

If you, or anyone you know is thinking about a new cat, please do contact us.

In this current climate having a new cat is a very serious decision with financial implications. All our cats will be fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and be up to date with antiparasitic treatment. All our cats have had a full veterinary check and some of our older cats may have had dentals.

We currently have young cats, older cats, pairs of cats, single cats looking for a home on their own, single cats who would like to live with a friend, cats who like dogs, cats who don't like dogs, cats looking for a quiet home, cats that would like to live with a family, long haired cats, short haired cats and cats of every colour!

Please do contact us if you can offer a cat a home and please share if you know anyone who is looking for a new cat.
