About turn.
For my Training Club classes.
This video shows the about turn on a verbal cue only, needed for Level 5.
Blue is ahead of me, is not looking at me and responds immediately to my verbal cue of βThis Wayβ.
My position stays the same. Iβm not turning or moving backwards.
Have fun π

Newt hoopers
Newt was a very clever boy at his hoopers lesson with Jan from Go-Go hoopers today.
Adolescent behaviours meant Newt has had a break from the equipment for a while and instead we practiced focus on me, play, stays etc instead.
Patience paid off and Newt worked on this great sequence today.
Thank you to Jan and my lovely classmates for being so accommodating and for setting us up to be successful.
All the dogs were great today.
Lincoln
Tracey sent me this lovely clip of her practicing some of her Training Club exercises with Lincoln yesterday.
Recall over a jump and send to a paws up!
Itβs a great way of keeping your dog happy when there is torrential rain βοΈ π
Down stay with distractions ππ
Progressing exercises
This short video (less than a minute so itβs not boring!) shows how exercises can be progressed and that foundations are so important.
The funky, tricky stuff is the basics done really well.
It also shows how easy it is to adapt exercises within the same class in order to cater for different abilities.
Russ and George were on fire in their hoopers lesson this week.
George ran beautifully.
Ziggy Hoopers
Ziggy and I had a great lesson with Cath at The Doggie Den today.
It was lovely to see Ziggy full of beans and back to her normal self.
Sheβs had a mini holiday, the weather is cooler and weβve been doing lots of NFC runs.
Send around
Here is a quick video of the steps I train for a send around.
Itβs squished together as one video, so itβs not too long, so practice each stage separately and take as long as you need.
Always mark as the dog is on the back of the item, opposite the handler.
Step 1. Throw treats in a straight line past the item.
Step 2. Start to add a curve to throwing treats.
Step 3. Add distance, just a little at a time. Move when the dog eats a treat so they donβt see you.
Step 4. Add a cue. You can use food or toys but if you use food you can get more reps.
We teach a send around for Level 1 in Training Club, hoopers and other sports and itβs great for having fun with your dog on walks, such as sending them around a tree or goal post.
Happy Friday Everyone ππ
Chin Rest
In our Training Club Classes we teach a chin rest and then gradually add distractions.
This is a great exercise to practice as a calm, still exercise that continues for a few seconds (duration) and is really useful to help with handling, vet visits, groomers etc.
Thank you to all the dogs and handlers in this short video clip π
