Mr handsome himself, Winni-woo (real name Winston 😂) This gorgeous boy can't wait to get in the door for his groom, ALWAYS falls asleep during 😴 but wags his tail the whole time he is actually awake 😄 We just love him to bits 💙

Before the salon was born, I would groom dogs at home. There were a dynamic duo of sister labradoodles named Beau and Poppy, that came every month for their groom. They have been coming every 4 weeks religiously ever since, so I was devastated to hear one of the sisters, Poppy, had fallen seriously ill and sadly passed away 💔 Nobody could have done more or fought harder to save her than their dedicated owner Sarah, who I know is completely heartbroken 😢
Poppy was such a sweet girl (pictured left) who would run into the salon wagging her tail, while her sister clung to her mum like a limpet 😄
It's going to be so strange to not have her by Beau's side in the salon and we will miss her terribly 😢 Safe onward journey darling Poppy, 🌈 We love you ❤️

Not something I like to say 🫤 but I'd like to make it clear, I will not tolerate rudeness towards myself but especially not my staff.

We experienced rudeness from a client this week - no complaints about the dogs groom, just generally rude disrespectful behaviour.

Please treat us with respect, or you will not be permitted to return to our salon. We have a list of potential clients that would love your appointment with us 🥰

So very sad to say we've lost a family member 💔 Zorro (show name Valentisimos Lugo) was my sister Dyan's beloved Spanish Water Dog, who sadly died last week

We travelled the country with Zorro, who carved out a fantastic show career, including Crufts, and although I loved handling him in the ring on the odd occasion, he was devoted to his mummy and vocalised this fairly firmly (whinged 🤣) He was the cleverest dog I knew, he had so many tricks he knew! His favourite thing was his ball which he liked to deposit (covered in drool 🥴) directly into your hand for you to throw again and again and again ad infinitum 😂😂 He was an amazing dog, who we have so many great memories to keep ❤️ My sisters heart was broken when he left, but I know he'll be waiting at the bridge for her 🌈(with a tennis ball ready 😄)

⭐ Matted Dog Policy 🙃

If your dogs coat is in a matted condition, it will be necessary that the matted fur be clipped out or the coat be cut short all over, depending on the severity. This will cost more than a regular groom.

🐶 Your dogs coat will re-grow quickly (a matter of weeks!) we can then get them back into their style ✅

🐶 Brushing out matted fur is a very painful and unnecessary process for your dog to suffer and can cause damage to the skin and coat, therefore this will not be done.

🐶 We will NOT hurt your dog so that it looks nicer! SIMPLY NOT HAPPENING, SO PLEASE DO NOT EXPECT OR ASK FOR THIS ❌

Things to remember:

🐶 Your dog may feel a little strange after a short clip, this is normal but they quickly adjust!

🐶 Your dogs will respond to how you react to them! So if you are horrified: *oh no what have they done to you!* you may find your dog behaves in a sad or depressed fashion - they've picked up on your negative feelings but don't understand what's wrong, so will often hide or 'sulk' or even shake/tremble ☹ Dogs are sooo sensitive and intuitive, so its important to make a happy fuss of them and tell them how gorgeous they look even if you're not feeling it! 🥰

🐶 Most feel liberated so will run and roll about excitedly! 😄🤪

🐶 Groomers never clip off matted coats to 'save time' or because we 'can't be bothered to dematt' These short clips not only take much more time than a regular groom - they are extremely taxing on both groomers bodies and our equipment! It also blunts and damages our expensive blades which is why we have to charge extra - to get them serviced/repaired/replaced. One matted clip off will cost us money to service our equipment!

Remember, your lovely dogs showcase our work! 👀

So we'd much prefer to keep your dogs in an attractive style but again, we love your dogs and we won't hurt them to accomplish this. ❤️

Woo hoo! 🎉 Grooming Gorgeous won the Highly Commended Award in Dog Groomer of the Year at the Animal Star Awards last night!! We were so shocked to be awarded - in a National competition with so many fantastic groomers nominated 🎉💕 So proud of my amazing team 🥹🥳

These darling standard poodles were rescued from a living hell by a team of incredible rescuers and groomers who united to help these poor dogs. If anyone can even donate a £1 to help towards the ongoing medical care and rehabilitation these pups will need to live happy lives. Well done to these amazing groomers coming together to help, dog groomers rock!

May is a very special month for us here at Grooming Gorgeous, not only is it the salons 9th birthday 🎂 but it marks my 32nd year of dog grooming!! Wow, I don't know where those years have gone!! 😱😄
Grooming Gorgeous started life in a small camper van on my driveway, just me, some tools, a love of dogs and a vision! The business quickly outgrew that little bus and our fully equipped, air conditioned salon you all know in Shanklin opened its doors in May 2015 😊 I studied and passed all my exams to become an International Certified Master Groomer the following year 🥰

We love our job, we groom with patience and kindness, we have helped 'un-groomable' dogs learn to enjoy the experience, seen puppies grow into beautiful adults, sadly seen clients age and pass away, their passing hurting us as if our own 😢 owners have become good friends ❤️

We have helped groomers starting out their own businesses, first by renting a space in the salon before opening their own salon or staying with us - I'm so proud of them 🥹🥰

Everyone who works at our lovely salon is fully qualified with oodles of experience, and though we aren't a huge salon, our love for our vocation is. We keep our training up to date and we give every client our full attention and adapt to each one 💕

So on our birthday month, I'd like to thank my amazing little team here for being awesome everyday and we would all like to thank every client for entrusting us with their beloved dogs, their loyalty and custom, we love you all - here's to the future 🥂🎂 🐶✂️🐩
