❕CANINE CANCER PREVENTION MONTH❕

With thanks to the awesome team at , bringing to our attention with it being November, that it’s canine cancer awareness month! This couldn’t be a better time to re share this post. Let’s spread awareness and empower each other.

We as a collective, only want the best for our dog’s, and to ensure they live a long and healthy as possible life. With cancer rates are continuing to rise, there are changes we can make as per parents to help reduce those risks!

Cancer is among the most common causes of death for dogs (and cats) and humans in the developed world, even though it is a lot less common in wildlife and other domestic animals. - Why this may be? There are several contributing factors within the modern day life style of our domesticated canine friends.

Starting with feeding your dog a fresh, whole foods diet is essential for encouraging longevity and supporting overall health and well-being. Cancer requires glucose for fuel. Feeding a processed kibble diet, packed full of carbohydrates and sugars will supply the energy cancer needs to thrive. High carbohydrate diets should be avoided as a cancer preventative measure.

Regular, age appropriate exercise can also massively contribute towards good health. Exercise can help to reduce stress levels. Prolonged exposure to stress can put stress on the immune system, making the body more susceptible to cancer.
