My own dog collapsed today on a short walk in 20/degree temperature which rose up to 23 very quick. Lessons learned. Thank you to a local member of the public called Ashley who gave us a lift home 🙏

This up coming week, I’ll be in Hungary, the home of a breed gaining popularity in the UK called 'Vizslas.' Many people are still unaware of this working line breed…Here are a few facts to help you get to know them!

🐾 Vizslas are Hungary's Beloved Dog Breed! 🇭🇺

1. Ancient Heritage: Bred by the Magyars over a thousand years ago.
2. Versatile Hunters: Excellent pointers and retrievers.
3. Velcro Dogs: Affectionate and love being close to their humans.
4. Elegant Athletes: Sleek, rust-colored coats and athletic bodies.

I was recently asked to assist in training a dog to obey commands. Upon arriving at the address, a council estate in southeast London, I encountered a 2-year-old Cane Corso. However, I quickly noticed concerning signs that I have seen in other areas of England such as Bradford and Manchester that prompted me to leave immediately for my own safety.

The dog displayed severe nervous behaviour and appeared to be involved in gang violence and dogfighting, it had unexplainable injuries consisting of a single missing ear, cuts and open wounds across the torso and fur missing on the nose. Despite notifying the police and various charities, the dog has unfortunately gone “missing”.

I have kept the details anonymous but I have attached a link to a Channel 4 Documentary that practically describes what I myself witnessed several months earlier, I was actually very surprised at how accurate this documentary is but it does not show the full extent of the issue.

This experience has highlighted the widespread issue of dogfighting in the UK. It's crucial to report any suspicions of dogs being used for this purpose, even if authorities are not responsive. Every dog deserves a chance. It's disheartening to see breeds like the Cane Corso and other bully breeds exploited in such a cruel manner.
