We have been getting very excited here at Paws at Storrs Creative as we are now ready to launch our new, special edition, 3 in 1 Christmas dog bandana. Its design, we believe, is unique in the fact that it can provide your dog with a variety of options from one single design.
The luxuriously soft faux fur collar trim will keep your dog warm and cosy whilst looking the part on those special family occasions. Its designed so that the fur can be detached and used independently. The bandana has been created to be reversible so it can be used without the fur when the Christmas season is over or when the weather gets a little bit warmer. WHY DO DOGS WEAR BANDANAS AND BOW TIES? IT MAY SURPRISE YOU!
It’s a fair question to ask really and one with answers that may surprise you as there are both practical and fashionable reasons why it is done. So why do dogs wear bandanas and bow ties?

AS A WARNING
One role of the bandana, and possibly the most important, is to display warnings to other owners. You can display it on the dogs chest or back of their neck. A clear text written on will be sure to attract the attention of the other owners without the need for talking. The most common types of warning dog bandanas are seen as Deaf, Vicious, Blind, Anxious & In Training.

FASHION
This might seem the most obvious one and they certainly are a great way to show off the dogs personality and give them that fashionable look. They are great for special occasions such as doggy events, markets, birthdays, photographs or simply in the park.

LOOKING LESS SCARY
Some dogs that are extremely friendly may look a little scary to others and adding a bandana or a bow tie can make them look more friendly and approachable. Imagine adding a bow tie to a bear, it may still look scary but at least it’s a little less scary.

WARMTH AND COLD
Simple really but wrapping a bandana around the dogs neck and covering the chest can help keep cold at bay and adds that little bit of extra warmth! What’s also great is that the reverse is true. On a hot day if you want to cool the dog down you can wet the bandana before applying it. How great is that!

CALMING
You can use the bandana or bow tie to calm the dog if they get anxious or worked up. Simply use a stress relief spray (from your vet) across the bandana or on the bow tie under the chin and because it’s near the dogs nose it will assist with them staying calm.

Dogs wear bandanas and bow ties for many amazing reasons. It’s not just for fashion, sometimes it’s just to help cool the dog down or make them look a little less scary. No matter what the reason, we love dogs and we will continue to make them for all the needs dog owners have.
