Smudge on his first ever lead training lesson, maintaining loose lead walking when passing another dog which is usually a big distraction! Well done Smudge! ππ»πβπ¦Ί

Rhona (white dog) playing with another dog for the first time in years!
Lovely Rhona is a Romanian rescue that struggled with severe reactivity towards other dogs. Walks had become stressful for her & her owners had to avoid all other dogs best they could.
Now, Rhona can calmly walk past other dogs in close proximity & here she is on her third session enjoying off-lead socialisation with my therapy dog Gus! We are elated for Rhona & her extremely dedicated owners that put in lots of vital practice between sessions!
Rhona has officially graduated & although we will miss her, we couldnβt be happier for her! βοΈ

πΆ Winston πΆ
Handsome chap Winston had a training session yesterday. In typical bulldog style he had got in to the habit of anchoring himself down on a walk & refusing to move when it was home timeπ€£
We focused on some lead training & he did so well he worked up quite a thirst, so had to stop for a quick refreshment from his bottle πΌπ

β¨ Marvellous Max β¨
Max is a staffy currently in a foster home with his very dedicated & patient foster parents! Max has been a faithful companion from the get-go but once he got his paws under the table πΎ he became reactive to other dogs out on a walk & would be very distressed at the mere sight of a dog from a distance! π Soβ¦ his rescue (Helping Yorkshire Poundies) asked me to step in & help Max so he could get back to enjoying his walks!
Look at the difference in Max in one session! π This is the very busy Locke Park in Barnsley & Max walked past other dogs without reacting! His fosterers before would normally avoid busy areas like this as they were triggering for Max but now here he is in a much better state of mind already - we canβt wait to see his progress! πΆ
Rescue dogs arenβt always easy but they are ALWAYS worth it! π
Please donate, foster or adopt to Helping Yorkshire Poundies - HYPS to help more dogs like Max & donβt hesitate to contact me for assistance with reactivity π
