Please DO NOT walk your dogs in the hottest part of the day, at 5pm its 30 degrees, way too hot, even in the shade!
I'm still seeing dogs been walked , saw a black Greyhound been walked at 5pm , dogs like that are more prone to heat exhaustion, as are flat face breeds and young and older dogs.
We're taking Fergs a quick poo walk before 8am and another quick poo walk at 9pm (sticking to woods or grass) luckily being 12 years old he's sleeping most of the day.
I do have cool coats, bandanas and 2 cool mats in stock plus Frozzys and Judes ice cream π¦

Heat Safety for Dogs
Just thought Iβd throw this out here again, even though itβs doing the rounds on social mediaβ¦ because Iβm still seeing dogs being walked in the heat, even at peak times.
Two dogs from Bakewell have died this week due to heat stroke.
Thatβs not a scare tacticβitβs reality.
Please be sensible. Walk your dogs early. I was out the door by 645 am this morning and home by 8.30. Ours will be inside for the rest of the day, with just a few short toilet breaks.
If youβre worried about boredom, there are plenty of ways to provide enrichment indoors.
Iβll be doing a bit of training, brain games and some food puzzles to help keep minds calm and engaged. I might even share what I do π
Donβt risk it. Theyβd always rather skip a walk than collapse from heat exhaustion.
Please share this post or story it if you canβletβs see if we can educate the masses a little more. The more people who see it, the more dogs we might save.
