This is information about a reasonably local yard. We also have very strict strangles testing. Strangles is a highly contagious bacterial infection and we praise the yard for making others aware it is around. To prevent the spread, it’s important to have good hygiene, a change of clothes and disinfect boots if coming to ride with us after being to a different yard.
It’s a very serious problem that can spread easily amongst the horses.

We are open for lessons as usual. Please do not drive down to the yard this weekend as the bottom car park isn’t cleared. There is still ice around so please stick to the paths where possible. Thanks very much.

The weather seems to look like it might be tricky to get for lessons on Sunday morning. If anyone would like to rearrange their lesson to Sat then please message as we do have spaces on classes. Hi the road from Dyche Lane roundabout towards Snowdon is closed for a stretch. Not sure when it’s open again but it’s made lots of people later today. I believe the diversion isn’t very useful. I think you can go right at the roundabout and then through the estate, back to the main road but you might want some extra time and your Sat nav too. Good luck.

Pony Camp 2024. We’ve had a great time. We’ve done a jumping lesson, groundwork, stable management, horse agility, hacking, jumping competition, ba****ck, working equitation, water fight, quiz and lots more.
Nice weather and a night camping in the school, lovely 😊

Please allow extra time if coming from Coal Aston way tonight. Road is closed due to an accident near the garden centre. You can get through Apperknowle and from Marsh Lane end ok. Thanks.

To those riding today, Snowdon Lane currently has road closed signs on it. I think they’re resurfacing near the tree shop, so you can access us from the Marsh Lane end of the road, those coming from Coal Aston may get diverted through Apperknowle. Hopefully they won’t be doing road works for too long. Thanks.

We have a part time job available of around 15 hours a week, with some extra holiday cover over summer.
This is a 6 to 8 month job to cover someone being off a while but with potential to continue after.
Hours are split over quite a few days so you would need ability to get here and home again, we’re not on a bus route.
Pay is NMW.
Need to be able to have some horse handling experience, but you will get training for the jobs that need doing.

Claire Hair from Nettleton Grange is bringing her obstacles for Working Equitation to Snowdon to have a go at doing. Great for anyone who would like a bit of something different with their horse. Good for control, balance and fun. Open for any level of riders on their own horse, with or without any experience if this kind of thing.
Nice indoor arena to work in so don’t worry about the weather. Claire is a grade 3 instructor and can offer great advice and improvements for you to work in with your horse.

£40pp with 3 sharing a session for 1hr 30mins.
Minimum 6 ppl needed to run the clinic.

Hi. Due to the rising cost of wages, feed and bedding (plus pretty much everything else) we are adjusting our prices as of the 1st April 2024. Please see our website for the updates. We have a job vacancy here at Snowdon Farm Riding School.

We’re looking for a person who can fulfill the following:
Enthusiastic, friendly, reliable, trustworthy, not afraid of hard work and challenging weather.
Has a passion for horse care and is willing to learn the way we ride, teach and handle the horses.
With some practical horse knowledge but will get on the job training.
Fan of Yorkshire tea
With the opportunity to make it into a career with BHS exam training and riding available if interested and keen.
Has own transport or ability to get here for split shifts, no public transport passes by us.
30hrs (possibly more) including one weekend day with flexibility to help with holiday cover.
Wage starts at NMW.
