Hello everyone! 👋🏻

Well just a couple more days until we’re packing our bags to go home…why do holidays pass so quick?!

It’s been a lovely break apart from a couple of sunny but chilly days. Hounds needed there fleece coats then….

…..which brings me on to a reminder about Sighthound Social Club’s organised Great Global Greyhound Walk 2024 @ Cannon Hall Farm.
The date is 29th September and as usual it is going to be a brilliant day. Lots of hounds, lots of fundraising and a few stalls for treats for hounds. I’ll be bringing a few fundraiser collars and more importantly a few ready made Snuggle Fleece and Dressing Gown Fleece coats.
The weather is definitely taking a more autumnal feel so fleece coats are on the cards for the next few months.

Brian below is modelling, obviously for a few treats 😉, a Snuggle Fleece in a fleece fabric I absolutely love! ☠️☠️☠️

Morning all! Back in the workroom today to finish a few fleece jackets but just having a cuppa. Really need that early morning cup of tea!

It’s that time of the year when the hounds dust off their buckets and spades in preparation for a break away and I will not be able to make anymore new orders after Wednesday.

This just allows me time to finish all current orders before we go and get them posted. I’m still around for the next week to take messages but will not be able to make any orders that come in after this Wednesday!

On another note, does anyone else’s dogs start to get excited and twittered up when the holiday bags come out! Ours do…😄

Afternoon all! 👋🏻

Thank you everyone for asking about and sending good thoughts for our Brian. It’s been 2 /52 since we really thought we were losing him. He’s now eating well and has regained his happy bounce! It really was a scare but he’s still with us a lot skinnier and a lot less hair but he’s okay for now…..
…..that leads me on to the reason I’ve been so quiet on here. I’ve also been catching up with orders and sorting some more donation collars.

So, thought I’d better show you a few makes. Hope you like them all! 😌

Evening All!

I know I’ve been quiet on here this week, didn’t mean to be but life just takes over.

Last Saturday we really thought we were losing our Brian. He became so ill within a short while.
Long story short, seen by vets and everything is pointing to AKI (acute kidney injury).

He is okay for now, lost loads of weight, hair and he’s so tired but he’s still with us and is now eating.

To say these last few days have been traumatic is an understatement but he’s still here and we’ll do what we can to keep him happy.

Please can we have a quiet weekend….! 🥹

Hello everyone👋🏻. It’s a bit of a working weekend for me with a few orders to make but wanted to post this first.

In the week I went to and district animal welfare fundraiser wireworks taster session and it was brilliant! A big thank you and well done to the fundraisers who organised it.

This is what I made and although it won’t win any art awards I absolutely love it!

I fell in love with this fabric as soon as I saw it. I even bought extra to make other things!

One more set made for a lucky hound…..think I maybe making a set for our hippy chick Lulu! 🧡🩷💜

Hello everyone! 👋🏻

Been a little quiet on the page as we had our Brian at the vets on Tuesday for yet another dental. He’s getting back to himself which is lovely to see and the 🤞🏻eye issue he had seems to have resolved after the dental!

We’ve changed vets and they’ve done a really good job. The bad tooth removed and what he has left look beautiful. The aftercare has been spot on with even phone calls to see how he is!

I’m upto date on orders and giving myself a full weekend with the family. 😌

So thank you to Croft Vets Dore & Totley. We have one happier hound. 🐾💙🐾

Last orders done for the weekend.

Here’s the blue zoomies collars all made up. The top is a 2” reduced martingale and the bottom is a 1.5” house/tag. Managed to remember to take photos before I posted! 😜

Today I had a day off to go meet up with friends.

It really does you good to take a step away from everything and have a really good natter and a shady indoor picnic….we really needed that today!

So revived and ready for another day but thought I’d show a set of 1.5” house collars made recently with the grey metalware.

We’ve had a poorly Brian for past couple of weeks, or at least he’s had a very strange eye! We think he may have ‘scratched’ his eye while his head dived into a bush. He’s a chuff for that…

Travelling vet visits and drops and tests and he appears to be sensitive to the eye drops px ! 🥺

Anyway, he’s not clear yet but we’ll get there.

In the mean time thought I really should be showing you a few pics of orders so here goes…aren’t they all cute! The fleece was beautiful! 🥰

Had a break with son yesterday, we needed to fetch some fresh butter from local farm and they just happen to make ice cream and sorbets as well…..it’d be rude not to try wouldn’t it?! 😂🍦😂

Not made a collar in this fabric for so long! It used to be quite popular at one time.

When asked for something with hares/rabbits and elegant looking I thought of this one straight away.

The end of September will be the GGGW. Below are details of the walk organised by Sighthound Social Club.
Dogs on Bikes.will be there with a selection of handmade collars, fleece coats and more and a greyhound or more doing the walk!

It’s the 29th of September so pop it in your diary as it’s a great day to raise funds for local dog charities and have a good fun day out.

There is food available or you can bring a picnic but there is the coffee stall for a cuppa and Cannon Hall Farm dog friendly cafe is close by. 🐾🐾

Flyer completed for the Great Global Greyhound Walk we will again be holding at Cannon Hall Farm on the 29th September to see if we can achieve the same level of sighthounds on a walks on this date as groups across various countries walk on the same day.

…UPDATED MODEL BIO OF THE HOUNDIES……

Well caption this one folks! 😂😂😂

This is our lovely Brian, almost 12yrs. Soft as a brush, not bothered by other dogs, cats, squirrels but is a stealth hedgehog spotter!

When he first came he had a really bad food gobbling issue, he would try and grab any food you had in your hand and had the worst sleep startle issue I’ve ever come across . It was so bad that he bit one our otherhounds who was the most gentlest foster mother supreme, this upset her dreadfully and she never forgave him. …. Well thats another story but we must admit it caused lots of angst at the time.

We found out very quickly that he was terrified of everything in the wide world and we had to introduce him slowly to new things and
eventually we got there!

He has a few new health issues recently but we’re working on those. Please Brian, keep it simple and not serious! 🥹

He now enjoys his bed big time, loves cuddles as many as he can get, prefers his short 2 a day walks as his legs get tired (he’s not the only one😉) but more than anything he is happy in his world. Long may you rule Brian the King! 🩵

Well it’s back to sewing today. Had a day off to visit a friend in Lincolnshir yesterday. Perfect day!

I’ve confirmed all orders and emails will be sent over weekend with postal dates.

Now back to it with a much needed cuppa! I really enjoy that first cup of tea in a morning. 🫖
