Imagine walking into a class where you’re expected to perform the same tasks as everyone else, without anyone understanding your unique strengths or struggles. Sounds stressful, right? Now imagine that stress for your dog.
Too often, group training classes are focused on managing behaviour in a high-pressure environment, without first addressing any underlying issues or understanding the individual temperament of both the dog and the owner. This “one-size-fits-all” approach can do more harm than good, creating stress, frustration, and even regression in a dog’s behaviour.
Each dog is different, each owner is different, and their journeys to success should be different too.

Imagine handing a loaded gun to someone who has no idea how to use it, the consequences could be dangerous, even deadly. This might seem extreme, but it’s a fitting comparison when rescue centers hand over a Belgian Malinois to an unprepared owner.
The Belgian Malinois is a powerful, intelligent, and driven working dog. They aren’t your average pet and are certainly not a good match for every home. Without the right training, mental stimulation, and handling, they can quickly become overwhelming, frustrated, and even aggressive, leading to a heartbreaking outcome.
Too often, I see these incredible dogs passed from home to home or ending up back in rescues, not because they’re bad dogs, but because they were placed with people who weren’t ready for the commitment and skill it takes to own a Malinois.
💥 A Malinois in inexperienced hands can be as dangerous as a loaded firearm in the wrong hands. 💥
These dogs are capable of incredible things, but only when they have a competent handler who understands their needs and can provide the structure, discipline, and daily work they crave.
