This reflects our desire to provide the highest standard of facilities and care for our patients. There is a nurse present on the premises 24/7 and a veterinary surgeon is always available to deal with in-patients or emergencies which means we can provide round the clock care for your pet. Our dedicated team consists of seven vets, nine nurses and four receptionists. Hospital facilities include:
-

sterile operating theatre
-diagnostic imaging area (including digital radiography, ultrasound and endoscopy)
-dedicated dental facilities
-extensively equipped in-house laboratory
-hospitilisation ward with critical care and isolation units

To all cat owners, please be aware that today is the deadline for Microchipping your cat. 😻

Please contact the practice for further information

It is now compulsory for all owned cats in England to be microchipped, making it more likely that lost or stray pet cats are reunited with their owners and returned home safely.

This includes cats that usually only stay indoors.

All keepers must ensure their cat is microchipped before they reach 20 weeks of age and their contact details stored and kept up to date in an approved pet microchipping database.

Today is ! We've teamed up with other cat charities and vet organisations to highlight the importance of getting cats spayed and neutered!

Not only does neutering protect from unwanted pregnancies, it can also reduce the risk of other health issues later in life. If you're on a low income or means-tested benefits, we can also help with the cost of neutering and microchipping!

🐾Veterinary Receptionist Vacancy🐾
We are looking for a full time OR part-time veterinary Receptionist to join out team.
The role will be mainly based at our practice on Abbeydale Road South but may require you to work at our branch practice in Hathersage.
A driving licence and suitable transportation will therefore be required.

You will need great customer and communication skills. You will need to be familiar with point of sale payment, computer system used for patient administration and booking, email processing and Microsoft word. You also must be skilled at managing, completing and prioritising client/patient queries.

Expected hours: 24 - 40 per week
8 hour shifts including a 30 minute paid lunch break to cover our opening hours;
Mon - Fri 8:00am - 8:00pm
Sat - 8:00am - 4:00pm
Sunday 10am - 1pm

This new regulation follows those that are in place for dogs.
Microchips are safe, easy to implant and effective. 🐾

Prevention is better than the cure! 🩺 Untreated high blood pressure in cats can lead to serious and irreversible damage to the heart, brain, kidneys and eyes, resulting in blindness in some cases. By being proactive and booking your cat in for regular blood pressure checks, they could be avoiding the potentially life threatening consequences of feline hypertension. #CatBloodPressure #FHAM

It's #FelineHypertensionMonth which is why we're spreading awareness of how important it is to know the signs of high blood pressure in your cat. 😻 Quite often, cats will show no noticeable signs of having high blood pressure. Our passion for a complete, on site 24 hour service for our patients provided under one roof provided by our own team allows us to have a bespoke service for our loyal clients and their truly deserving pets. Location Sheffield is also known as the outdoor city with famous trails, legendary nights out and much more. Hathersage is in the scenic Peak district with stunning landscape to enjoy. The Role We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our close knit, friendly team. We are a busy first opinion, fully equipped small animal veterinary hospital that provides its own 24hr emergency care, giving you the opportunity to see your cases progress. We have an experienced team with an external orthopaedic surgeon and cardiologist, along with a team of 8 Veterinary Surgeons, 6 RVNs, 3 Student Nurses, 2 ACAs, 4 Receptionists, placement nurses and office team. A typical FTE working week is 40 hours covering the main hospital and a branch site in Hathersage usually comprising of an average of 5 x 8 hour day shifts (with a paid lunch) per week. Needy Weasley 🤣 This cuddly ginger boy is called Ron Weasley, we wanted to get a picture but all he wanted was to cuddle so we had to video instead! Such a sweet boy came in for his castrate then went straight back to cuddling 🥰

Big Stink the Indian Runner Duck 🦆 His owners lovingly named him Big Stink 🤭 they have had him since he was an egg! So he is very tame and super loving. He was such a good boy when he came in to check his eye and was loving all the attention 😍
