All walks were in the woods today because of the heat! Walks can be made earlier, shorter or changed to let outs if needed during the warmer weather with prices reflected.

Callie loves her cuddles 🥰 and Milo has loved finding a play pal in Freda 😃 although he has been just as keen with the rabbits too so much I’ve had to relocate them to the utility room 🙈😂
Skye is with us for the holidays, she has settled in so well 😃. She is a gorgeous gentle Cavapoo who loves to play with her squeaky ball, she actually brings it back which we’re not used to in our house 😁, snuggle on the settee and give face licks 🥰 She is also a great guard dog so we currently have double the volume if anyone dares to walk on our cul de sac 😂
Skye’s original boarding fell through which is why we have her but we’ve now got internal
doors fitted to the house so I can apply with the council to get a boarding licence. Eek will keep you posted 🥳
There were no Sunday blues here when I was back walking all my regular walkers this last week 😃

It’s National Dog Walking Day today 🦮 and my first time walking new dogs Jess and Honey 😃 (I now have 3 Honeys 🥰)
Honey is still a puppy and becomes anxious with new people coming into her home. The first time I came she ran upstairs and barked throughout! I did 2 further home visits with her owners and then have been sitting this week.
As you can see from the pics she has made fantastic progress 🤩 and we had our first walk today, well done Honey!
They have both been the cutest companions, Jess loves cuddles and tickles and Honey loves to play! 😃🤗🥎
Also can’t believe I’ve never walked in the woods at Owlthorpe before, it’s so lovely!

Out in the snow for the dog walks I needed to do, abandoning my car after, Pete rescuing my car to get Nancy to abandon it again!
Now out in Pete’s car to do my doggy sits, keeping pooches safe and cared for ❤️

What is ‘Silent pain?’ 🤔
Did you know that dogs are genetically predisposed to hide pain because in the wild, weakness or injury would make them vulnerable to predators.
According to some experts, more than half our dogs suffer from ‘silent pain’ that their owners are unaware of. Dogs will rarely vocalise even moderate pain and often just run through it and don’t show any signs.
Silent pain is difficult to diagnose as it is subtle and develops slowly over a long time and any slight changes in the dog are often just attributed to normal ageing.
Things to consider with your dog-
✳️ Dogs are very loyal animals - they will follow you for as long as they can- on walks, up the stairs, onto the bed, ignoring any pain because they want to be with you
✳️ When doing zoomies, playing, chasing squirrels etc your dog won’t feel pain as their endorphins (their powerful natural pain relieving hormone) will be at released - the pain will come later when the dog is home and resting.
✳️ Your dog will not, however, be able to make that connection between the earlier exercise and the pain they’re now experiencing due to the time delay so they will repeat it the next day and the next and so on…..
✳️ Ball orientated dogs will ignore pain and continue to chase the ball as long as you throw it for them until they tire
✳️ Over a period of time and as your dog ages, the joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons become less able to deal with these demands and that’s when injuries start to happen.
✳️ You may at this point start to notice some changes in your dog, they might start to move a little
differently or be less enthusiastic on walks but again, it might not be physical signs. Your dog may develop behavioural problems, become noise sensitive, nervous or agressive with other dogs or may just pant more or find it harder to settle.
✳️ So …..just because your dog can leap for the ball/ jump up and down off the bed/ do ten zoomie laps of the field etc doesn’t mean you should let them and it does NOT mean they are not in pain!

Today I had Alfie who loves to sniff and scratch 🙂 and then Ziggy with Freda.
Slight drama when a lost dog joined us, thankfully he followed us safely home and is now reunited with his owner. It has made me realise I need to carry a slip lead in case I get anymore impromptu members without a pre service visit 😂

What a gorgeous day to start my first full week! 🌞 Today I had FIVE new dogs started with me, but only managed to take photos of 2 due to juggling leads, will do better next time!
These 2 are very keen walkers and why I’ve done 17,000 steps today 😅
Gorgeous Dexter who has already stolen my heart as I’ve had 2 border collies before ❤️ and beautiful Lola who carried her ball the whole time 😃 Off lead and ball throws next time Lola I promise!

PET SITTING
Hey all I’ve had a couple of queries about the sitting so thought I’d do a post about what I can do.
Unfortunately I can’t have dogs at my house as my home doesn’t meet the requirements needed. I also can’t live in your house 24/7 whilst you are on holiday as I have my children to care for too.
What I can do is some nights round my husbands night shifts, and then do calls throughout the day and evening to walk, feed and let out your dog if you would like your dog to stay at home.
