It is deepest regret that taking into account the amount of rain since lunch time, and the horrendous forecast a severe weather warning for heavy rain during the night and throughout the day tomorrow that for the safety of horse and rider we must cancel tomorrow. To those that have bathed and plaited our apologies, it’s not easy to cancel such an eagerly anticipated and heavily sponsored day but our plan is to run the event on September 29th same schedule, if the sun should rain tomorrow May I be struck down by lightening, but we have to act on the information we have now and my instinct is that the forecast is correct. Please comment below if you’ve read this post, if you have paid entries in advance please indicate whether you’d like to transfer entries or wish a refund.

To one and all judges sponsors and supporters this is an open invitation to join us in the hospitality marquee tomorrow at 11.30 am - 1.00 pm for lunch to eat copious amounts of food prepared fresh baking scones and delicacies

Hallamshire Riding Society Chantrey Championships Sept 7th and 8th are nearly upon us. Don’t be put off that we call them our Championships, you’ll find the same warm welcome as soon as you arrive on the Show-ground, and the HRS ladies are looking forward to seeing you. No prior qualification is needed. As always we provide competition in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere, we have lovely judges booked for the weekend as always super rosettes and sashes and trophies to our winners and members, vouchers, cash prizes and gifts all provided by our lovely sponsors to whom we are most grateful. Evey Leigh Oldale is our resident photographer and Sizzlers are with us both days keeping folks fed and happy. Hackamore Saddlery will be with us Sunday with lots of lovely bargains especially those last minute purchases saving the day. On the Saturday we have Dressage, an equestrian car boot sale, a fun dog show and a days show jumping for all capabilities over a course of Jump4joy jumps.

On Sunday it’s our showing day with ridden and in hand showing and working Hunter Classes in the main ring decorated by Dore Moor Garden Centre helping bring a ‘county’ feel to proceedings, along with our hospitality marquee for our sponsors On Sunday you have the chance of going forward to our Supreme Championship in the afternoon which is always a popular spectacle worth £300 to our winner. The links to the weekend’s schedules are below we look forward to seeing you if only for refreshments and a get together at our last show on the field.
