📢 A few photos of the fish from this weeks large restock!

We are having a huge influx of people lately who seem to have bought tiny tanks from other shops - I mean things like 10, 12 or 15 litres, which are all grossly inadequate for fish. We cannot sell fish for these sizes of tank, as we are not prepared to send our fish to die a miserable death, or at the very best to live a miserable life. To us, the welfare of the critters in our care must always come first.

The smallest tank fit for purpose is 20L, and that is really only (just) large enough for a single male betta (fighting fish). Cold water fish in particular really need considerably larger accommodation. We will always be happy to advise about suitable stocking for your tank.

Sadly, we have found some potential customers are quite offended when refused a purchase. There is nothing we can do to prevent other retailers selling inappropriate tanks, and it is as frustrating for us as it is for customers that we sometimes have to send people away empty handed.

If you are already following our page, you will already know this, but if you have any friends or relatives keen on getting a tank and some fishies, can you please spread the word that size, in relation to providing fish with a decent home, really does matter. They will thank you in the long run, and so will their pets.
