He makes a great companion! He is very playful, but also sweet and will sit on your lap when he's feeling cuddly. He will sleep on your bed with you at night. 🧡

He has the softest fur, the biggest paws and the prettiest eyes. 🥹

He enjoys his food and isn't picky. He loved the brand Concept for Life from Zooplus the most when he was with us. 😋

They have come from a loving home and have always been indoor cats. ❤️

Our vet bill for August is extortionate. 😩

All the tests, treatments, neutering, etc... it has all added up to a wopping £3,691 and half of these lovely cats can't even come to the cafe. 😞

A positive is that we now have some potential cats lined up, but we will also need to vaccinate, neuter/spay and test them all which will add up to another bill like this next month.

We are immensely grateful for your donations as every little bit helps towards these vet bills.

IMPORTANT UPDATE 😞

We are really struggling. Getting the café ready and finding suitable cats is proving much more difficult than we thought.

We are devastated as we won't be able to reopen in September. We are all feeling quite hopeless right now.

We are so passionate about Tabby Teas and we know how much you are too. We are doing everything we possibly can to make this work. It's reached a point now where we are paying from our personal accounts as we have nothing left...

The most difficult part is finding cats. Rescues are overrun and too busy to work with us or haven't got suitable indoor cats as they mostly get in strays. So we have had to turn to Pets4Homes where we have been specifically looking for cats who need a home. We have driven hours to pick up cats who could be suitable.

Each cat we get goes into their own foster home. We then need to take them for a check up, blood tests and do a stool sample. This was recommended by our vets to avoid anything contagious being brought in.

These tests take at least 2 weeks to come back to us and we have already had a few who have tested positive for various things and cannot come to the cafe. So far we have 3 cats who can come, but we cannot open with just 3 cats. We don't even know if they will be happy at the café yet as the cafe isn't ready for them to move in and we want to give them enough time to settle in before we open to the public.

We have always wanted to remain transparent with you because we know how much Tabby Teas means to you. We are sorry to write this depressing post, but now more than ever we need your help.

🏡 FOREVER HOME NEEDED 🏡

Hi everyone, my name is Chou-fleur which is french for cauliflower. A pretty name for a pretty lady like me. ❤️

I am just 1 year old and I am looking for a cosy home just for me.

I was looking forward to joining the Tabby Teas Team, but unfortunately I was diagnosed with a scary illness called Feline Panleukopenia. This was a big shock to the humans as I have 0 symptoms and am full of energy! FPV is scary as it severely affects 90% of cats who have it, but I'm so grateful that I'm ok. I am fully vaccinated so I do believe this has saved my life. 💪🏻

As you can see, I am a very pretty cat. I have a unique cream coloured coat, with patches of ginger, like a cauliflower sprinkled with paprika.

I am also cheeky and love to explore every nook and cranny. If you're scared of spiders, I will deal with them and make sure your home is completely spider free. 🕸️

I enjoy film nights and will sit next to you for company. 📽️🍿

⚠️ As I may carry FPV I must be the only pet! Even though it isn't affecting me, I don't want to make any other animals poorly.

🏡 FOREVER HOME FOUND 🏡

Some of you may have already seen Jasper on our social media. He was a potential candidate for the cafe, but sadly he has tested positive for Cryptosporidium. This doesn't cause him any issues as he is asymptomatic, but sadly it is contagious so he can't join the Tabby Teas Team. We are gutted as he has such a lovely personality. 🥺

Jasper is now looking for a forever home to call his own.

He is a very affectionate boy who needs a lot of attention and cuddle time so a home with a family or with someone who works from home/part-time would be ideal for him. 🧡

About Jasper:
🗓️ He is just 1 year old
➖ Has tested negative for FIV/Felv
🏐 Neutered
💉 Has had his first vaccination, 2nd due on 10th September so will be able to go to new home after this.
🚸 Can live with older cat savvy children (7+)
🏠 Indoor only, but would enjoy a catio.
🐱🐶 Must not live with other cats or dogs to avoid spreading Cryptosporidium.

I genuinely thought people would be desperate to adopt Frida and Bea. Where is everyone who said they would "sn**ch them up in a heartbeat if they ever needed a home"? Surely there is someone out there who is looking to adopt a bonded pair of cats? Please don't overlook them just because they aren't tiny kittens anymore. They still have kitten personalities. 🧡

Our progress so far... We have cleared out so much stuff, disinfected everything we are keeping and lined it all up ready for the fog machine. Then we can start getting the café looking nice again and ready for some kitties! 🥰❤️

⚠️ REOPENING DELAYED UNTIL SEPTEMBER 17th ⚠️

Hi everyone, just letting you all know that unfortunately we need a bit more time before we can reopen. 😞

The cleaning process and refurbishing are taking a lot longer than we thought. 🫧

We are also waiting on test results for the new cats and for them to have their full vaccine courses as we need to take these steps to ensure they aren't carrying anything contagious before we can bring them into the cafe.

Frida and Bea still need a home 😞

It’s been months since we were able to accept a new cat into our care, despite being closed to new cats we still have a hefty 57 cats in care 🥹

We’ve got a lot of very poorly cats, many of whom are subject to ongoing and serious health investigations 🏥

The only thing more depressing than having poorly cats is having healthy cats who are ready to go off to their forever home, but haven’t received any suitable interest 😭

We’ve got 6 cats ready to roll…bags are packed, they are just waiting for a chance 💜

We understand you may not in a position to adopt yourself, but please, could you share this post? this could be the flap of the butterfly’s wings that results in a friend, a family member, a colleague, giving one or event two of these wonderful, deserving cats their forever home 🥰 🦋🏠

Hi, I'm Penny! 😻 I'm 9 months old and I'm a cheeky little lady with the most gorgeous golden tabby coat. ⭐

I am looking for a forever home where I will get lots of attention and play time. 🧡

I am strictly an indoor cat, but I would love some cat trees to climb and lots of enriching toys to play with. 🌴🌳

I absolutely love my food, and will gobble it all up. I'm not a picky eater so I am easy to please. My current favourite is Meowing Heads chicken wet food and Bozita dry food from Zooplus. 😋

- I will be fully vaccinated on 22nd August so I can go to my new home after that. 💉
- Spayed & chipped ✔️
- FIV & Felv negative ➖
- I do have mild gingivitis which means I *could* be a carrier of Calicivirus, but there is no way of 100% confirming this. I am a very healthy cat otherwise. 💪🏻

We thought Frida and Bea would be the first to find homes as they are so young. All our older cats found their forever homes so easily which is amazing, but we can't understand how Frida and Beatrix haven't been adopted yet?? 🥺

If you've been considering adopting them, go for it! They will bring so much joy into your lives.
Frida loooves to cuddle on your shoulder/chest or she will nuzzle into your neck when you're laying down. 🧡

Bea just loves to sit with you or on you. She will sit on your lap and look at you with so much love in her pretty yellow eyes. 💛

They are both super playful so there is tons of fun to be had playing with them!

Please don't overlook these two gorgeous girls. 🥺
