The former Candy Dog Training paddock has now been taken over by 2 of my friends; Anne-Marie and Mandy.

All overwhelming in such a pleasant way.

It has been an honour and a pleasure to meet and teach so many great people and their dogs, they obviously adore so much, putting their trust and faith in me to guide them correctly.
Though a responsibility to be underlined with the seriousness it requires, it can be achieved with fun, with an enjoyment to want more.

I shall keep this page going to keep in contact with you all, so please watch this space.

The future of Candy Dog Training?
The fire may have been dampened to a smoulder however, the passion within still burns bright, to reignite that flame once again when times are more favourable.
Once I have regrouped, I hope to continue in a smaller way at local locations with obedience class training and 1to1 obedience training.

Notice of permanent closure of business at it's Evercreech, paddock location.

Candy Dog Training will finally close it gates on the 10th July 2023.
The last dog training class will take place Sunday 9th July 2023.

Unfortunately Candy Dog Training has proven to be an unviable business.
Over the last 10 months, it has been a struggle to achieve 50% of the minimum, viable target within the accounts.
1. Notable drop off in new clients since the start of the credit crises.
2. Cancellations due to weather. Waterlogged grounds to uncomfortable high temperatures.
3. Poor average attendance levels.

A successful business needs to continuously improve to maintain a high standard of quality within it's services and health and safety. With zero available funds, any immediate improvements required can not be carried out to satisfy any risk assessment.

Personal decline in health, both physically and mentally.

The last few months, Candy Dog Training has been running on will power, desire, passion and a love for what I do, with the support both financially and emotionally from my very dear family, who I can not thank enough.

I also can not thank enough my members from present and over the past 2 years.
Without their support Candy Dog Training would never have been a dream come true for me. I have met some wonderful people and some very special dogs too. The memories are great.

I also know this will be hard for my dog Candy too, she has been a complete darling and I could not have done it without her by my side. She will indeed miss her friends.

Sorry to let everyone down.
This has been one of the hardest things to have had to do or write.

Weekend weather and classes.
There are weather warnings within the local area over the next few days, due to sudden and harsh thunderstorms with heavy rain. However, these are not predicted to hit Evercreech within class times. Also due to temperatures rising above 25 degrees Centigrade.
My temperature cut off point for classes is 25 degrees centigrade, thus declaring the temperature too uncomfortable for most dogs to work in.
I am aware that every dog is an individual, character, breed traits, physically and mentally.
If your dog is not comfortable in temperatures that the classes are running at, on the day, please let me know prior to the class and no payment will be due.

This weekend.
Saturday 10th June: Class 10am-11am running as normal. 12pm-1pm running as normal.
Temperatures are predicted to rise mid-afternoon to 25 degrees. Therefore I have cancelled my two 1to1 classes in the afternoon.

Sunday 11th June: Running as normal all day. Peak temperature predicted 22 degrees.

Kennel cough is highly contagious and is reportedly, rife in the local area at the moment.
Please read the information within this article regarding Kennel cough.
If your dog displays any of the symptoms, please do not bring them to classes until you have sought your vet's advice for safe return to social activities with other dogs.

It's a busy bee business 🐝
It's not nice however not unusual for a dog to be stung by a bee if they accidently tread on one.
Just be aware of the symptoms regarding an allergic reaction and when you need to seek a vets support.

Here is the very same Staffy X Shar Pei.
A Knight in Shining Armour.
Filmed from his class last weekend.
He is just over a year old now and has not been long doing the jumps with some height and all the big boy equipment on the fun agility course.
In action demonstrating his skills, confidence, enthusiasm and enjoyment, with a great partnership with his mum, having so much fun together. 😃🥰👏👍🐶🐾

This little chap enjoys his private lessons and has achieved so much in only 3 lessons, progressing, character and confidence building, having fun whilst learning the rules for everyday life, with gaining those skills too.
The bond has formed from a delicate bud and is starting to flourish into a flower in full bloom. 🌺

Our Dog Wardens receive many complaints regarding dogs acting aggressively, often with these complaints it is initiated by dogs that are not under proper control of their owners.

If you see a dog on a lead be respectful and make sure you place your dog on a lead until you are close enough to speak with the owner. Dogs, like humans, do not always get along together and its important to not place dogs in a position where they feel threatened.

However friendly your dog is if it approaches an on lead dog and an altercation starts you could be found at fault and liable for any costs incurred. You could also end up in court or with formal sanctions placed against your dogs.

Thank you to all those that came to "Come play/socialise with Daffy" a special event.
It was a super success and all had such a good time too.
With me and Candy playing referee, a couple of time outs were awarded for rule breaking when getting over excited.
Candy was on her usual form and wanting to give everyone a red card before anyone even got out of their car.

Daffy's mum had damaged her foot, thus unable to achieve enough physical and mental stimulation for Daffy.
Daffy is a Kelpie/Collie cross and has a very strong working drive/instinct, thus very demanding on mental, physical stimulation and new challenges, without a balance of both she can become bored and frustrated.

The event was such a success, I will most probably arrange something like this again.

For only £2 per dog for the hour play time.
Dogs must be or have been class members of Candy Dog Training, likes to play with other dogs, especially the game of chase. (Not for young puppies)
All facilities will be available, yes even the paddling pool.

This young Siberian Husky is doing so well in her class.
