Poor Morgan came in with an infection in his foot and needed to have it all flushed out, followed by a course of antibiotics. He came in feeling very sorry for himself but soon perked up with some food and cuddles from the team. Wishing you a speedy recovery Morgan!

A client has been looking after a black and white long haired cat, which they brought in to our Yeovil branch to be checked for a microchip, unfortunately no chip was found. The cat was found in the Ilchester area. If you think this could be your cat please call 01935 421177. Proof of ownership will be required.

*Cat Microchipping*
If you didn't already know Cat microchipping will be compulsary from 10th June (That's Monday!!). Kittens will need to be microchipped by the time they are 20 weeks old. If a cat isn't microchipped by this date, owners will need to ensure it's done within 21 days or risk a potential fine of up to £500. If you are unsure if your cat is microchipped you can arrange to bring them in for us to scan to double check for you. To book an appointment please call 01935 813288 (Sherborne) or 01935 421177 (Yeovil). Don't forget microchipping comes as part of the Pet Health Club plan. Follow the link below for more details.

*Separate Cat and Dog waiting areas*
In our new practice we have two separate areas for Cats and Dogs, to help minimise stress to both when they come to visit us. Our cat waiting area includes a stand where clients can put their cats in their baskets so they are off the ground, which is proven to help them feel more comfortable. Blankets to cover their carriers, pet remedy spray and wipes have also been provided to reduce stress as much as possible. We now also have retail stands with the lots of toys, treats and other products available!

When walking your dog in the dark, make sure that both you and your dog are visible to others. For owners this means avoiding dark clothing and wearing reflective safety gear such as a vest, strap or wristband. There are several options for keeping your dog visible in the dark such as a reflective dog jacket, collar, lead, harness or even an LED light up safety necklace. Dogs with darker fur are more difficult to see in the dark. However, even if you have a lighter coloured dog, you should make sue your dog can be seen in the dark.
