I’ve been working with Sage on recall, heel work and retrieving. She’s changed so much, still has her teenage moments of ‘I don’t want to’ but she’s willing and changed so much over the past couple of months.
After a busy summer we’ve been a bit lapse with the training with house sitting, house move and general life but this week we’ve got back to it before this shooting season really kicks off!🐶🦆
As seen in my stories I do scrub up on manners even on group walks. Practicing gate manners, waiting, recall and patience! Mac and Teddy have been making friends with Sage - who comes for walks occasionally! Mac and Teddy LOVE making friends and being able to meet them so perfect when they had an extra friend to run around the field with 🥰🐶

I get asked a lot how I get the dogs to listen off and on the lead and it’s all about engagement and making yourself high value. It’s taken a while to know what treats my dogs like, using different tones of voice and most importantly making it fun 😃
Scofi, in the video, gets distracted easily and if you see a dog or human that is far more interesting so out on our walks I will either have him on his lead or the long line and encourage him to stop what he’s doing and come to me. He’s improved masses since when I first walk him and he would just go do his own thing and had to be on the shorter lead but give him that bit of freedom has made us trust each other and him to become more responsive 🐶🥰

🐶🐴 MY JOB 🐶🐴I love my job and I’m so grateful for all my amazing customers and all the super animals I get to work with everyday! Recently, I’ve had a lot of questions of why I do this? Or why don’t I get employees? Or up my prices to lower my customer list? The answer to all of these are I love my job too much! My prices are reasonable I do this for the love not the money, yes it pays the bills but knowing all my dogs, cats and horses are happy in my care then that’s all that matters to me🥰 I am VERY busy but that’s because I work to a high standard and pride myself on that as well a great reputation! I’ve previously mentioned in a posted about my walks aren’t like normal walks. I like to make the dogs think and search, using their nose and brains will tire them out as much as a walk will.
Scatter feeding is one of them! Belle and Tilly LOVED it!! Treats are very high value and playing games like this creates a bigger bond with me and the dogs.

First weekend of the year and it’s wet and miserable! ☔️

Nelson owners have sadly tested positive for COVID so he came for a walk today… I think he enjoyed it😆
With COVID cases rising, I’m putting in place all precautions! I have my own leads so no need to use yours and dogs can just be passed through the front door so no contact is made. Keeping owners and myself safe!
If you do test positive, please inform me soon as and we can organise dogs collections to what suits you and your dog.
