Everything needed to make a small sustainable centre piece out of fresh local foliage (candles not included) refreshments available.

Wow! What a success our bug and build workshop was this morning. The children were given a small set of questions relating to mini beats. As they went around the farm they found different materials to put into their bug hotels, (and the answers to their questions!)

Not so long ago we helped out a lovely family with supplying them with some eggs to go under their broody hen, unfortunately 3 days before they were due to hatch she decided she didn’t want to sit on them anymore so we stepped in and popped the eggs in our incubator and luckily we had success.
So pleased that we were able to help this family and enable more children to see the hatching and rearing process. 🐣🐥

Our names are Tom, kate & our son George.
We are proud owners of Thornstead Farm. 🧑🏻‍🌾👩🏼‍🌾

We thought it was time we reintroduce ourselves as we’ve had a few new followers recently so thank you to everyone who has shared/ liked our content. It truly makes a huge difference! 👏🏻

On this page and our other socials, we will be sharing our journey of growing our smallholding. Our aim is to become self sustainable farmers whilst teaching the next generations and having a little fun along the way! 😄

Currently we have plenty of projects to keep us busy, such as our pigs which we are currently hoping to have some piglets from soon, our sheep, as well as a plenty of chicken varieties, ducks, turkeys & goats! Along side that kate runs some fantastic workshops using flowers from our own cut flower garden, and special guests nights! However it doesn’t stop there, we also have a pumpkin patch and pick your own sunflowers! This year we have even created a sunflower project supporting 6 local primary schools by aiding and teaching the children how photosynthesis works by growing their very own sunflower! It really is all go here! 🌻🌹

Our favourites from June: •Wild Privet •Pale Yellow-Eyed Grass Fun facts - Wild privet has white flowers in the summer followed by black berries in the autumn. Birds especially love its berries which are poisonous to humans. Pale yellow eyed grass - clump forming perennial. Hi everyone! We have just come back from a lovely break away in france, but there is no rest for the boys at #ThornsteadFarm. We have luscious meadows which grow our Hay, so we are busy keeping a close eye on how it is growing. This Hay will feed our own animals and make 500-700 small bales that we sell/deliver locally. This meadow needs a few more weeks until we can harvest it so the boys can crack on with lots of other jobs. Our story

Thanks for taking time to have a look over my business! I set up in October 2017 after identifying a need for a more tailored and personal service of Shotgun Cartridge and Gundog supplies sales. I deliver cartridges in person, locally to a 20 mile radius of our address. I also supply Gundog equipment and shooting accessories all across the UK. Delivery in person is completely at your convenience.

Possibly your are shooting tomorrow morning and have suddenly realised you are nearly out of cartridges? Not a problem as long as I have something appropriate in stock I will deliver in time for your days shooting. I try to stock a wide variety of excellent quality Gundog equipment, a range of different brands and sizes of shotgun cartridges and a small amount of other shooting accessories such as cartridge bags and gun cleaning equipment. I also love to support Gundog Clubs and Trainers - get in touch if you need some support and would like to know more.
