About me:
I was born & bred in Hockley and have always been passionate about my family, friends, animals & the outside life. Growing up, I started horse riding from the age of 5, enjoying local rides with friends from the farm, eventing & spending quality time with my horse. Aged 18 I’d decided to explore some of the world, backpacking and travelling around Australia, New Zealand, & parts of Eur
ope. My mother was Canadian, born in Toronto & part of a very large family. During my first trip there, I loved the lifestyle so much, I stayed for a year, working & travelling. I was even co-pilot for my truck driving cousin, delivering Apples, 1000s miles from East to West, Toronto across to Vancouver, south into The States and back. Once back in the Uk, I started working for the NHS supporting adults with Learning Difficulties, which led me to a new career into mental health nursing. I studied at ARU & was awarded my Registered Mental Health Nursing status. My Dogs:
‘The Awesome Foursome’
I have 4 beagles who are my absolute world, my best buddies, Millie, Basil, Margo & Reggie. I rehomed Millie from a friend 7 years ago. she experienced separation anxiety so we decided to find her a buddy. I was put into contact with Cyprus Beagles who rescue, rehabilitate & rehome beagles, many of whom have had difficult starts to their lives. And along came little Basil who had been found as a street dog & living in the mountains, him and Millie bonded as soon as he walked in the front door! Next came Margo.. unplanned ! Donations had been raised for her flight, again from Cyprus Beagles (CB) and she was to foster with the Uk side of CB. I’d gone along as copilot to Gatwick to meet her flight, with the lovely Jo. When Margo came into animal reception centre she looked absolutely petrified, she stole my heart there & then, she was very fragile having been used as a hunters dog for breeding & scared of everything. She’s been with us 3 years and grows in confidence each day, loves her pack and is extremely close to my Dad! Reggie, number 4! What can I say.... last September Papa & I visited the family in Canada, my three hounds went into home boarding, with CB fostermum. Reggie had just arrived into the UK, another hound used by hunters in Cyprus,
Love at first sight his face & eyes melted me (there’s a pattern!!) and so he came to join the pack! Millie, Basil, Margo & Reggie are very sociable loving hounds, they enjoy playtime with others & often have friends for play dates, we attend lots of off lead charity events. They love their walks and never seem to tire, typical hounds, noses to floor and wanting to explore everything! Mischievous & charming. They absolutely love life and really are the most adorable hounds. We’re lucky to live close to beaches, woods & beautiful countryside giving us plenty of opportunity to go exploring, although we do enjoy days in too! Garden and chillazing ! I feel I have a good understanding of dogs and have lots of experience of their individual needs. I aim to expand my knowledge & personal development by embarking on a canine psychology course & other relevant courses. And that’s us! During these last few challenging months, Ive reflected on what is important in my life, and where I’d like to start my next path. I deceived to follow my heart & my passion which is my love of dogs, so I will be ending my nursing career and here we are now.... self employed & starting Beach Boarders Pet Services...
We’d really love to invite you to share our home & our world
