Funder pants are go! Great game to teach “middle”
So firstly I hope you all have a lovely Christmas. For some dogs it can be an overwhelming experience, maybe because they are so over excited with visitors or maybe because they are a little worried and not use to it. So do be aware of this, help your dog out by maybe having a quiet room at home, preferably that they like being in and where nothing exciting has happened in, so we haven't played games in that room, put harness/lead on in that room or anything else that is exciting to that dog - this is a CALM room. (for my dog its the bedroom, its a quiet haven and she loves it) Have something your dog loves to rest/sleep on, give them calming activities such as stuffed Kong, long lasting chew when in that room, make sure they have water. So if it all gets a bit too much and the dog is over excited or worried, we can pop him/her in that room to rest/chill for a while, visiting them yourself frequently, but not allowing visitors to do so. Do not close the door, this can worry many dogs, have a stairgate instead and if your dog can jump over, put two up, one on top of the other or use a dog stairgate as they are a little taller. They need time to rest/chill in-between coming out and being with everyone, help them out, don't expect them to just cope if your having visitors/guests and don't normally have many. Keep unsafe items out of reach, such as chocolate, batteries and so much more. I do hope you are your fur kids have a lovely Christmas, keep safe and enjoy the magic.
