The RDA National Training Centre is an inspirational Equestrian Centre for RDA Volunteer and Coach Training & development as well as running commercially as a riding school with an impressive 5* license. At the NTC, we provide opportunities for both disabled and non-disabled participants to learn to ride - from our beginner and therapeutic sessions to those wanting to compete. don't worry you can
still come along and enjoy our Centre by:
- Hiring our facilities
- Booking a lesson or clinic with one of our coaches
- Having a go on our mechanical horse (great for rider fitness, building strength and improving position)
- Booking onto one of our Sunday events.
A dedication to Harvey Morris, who sadly passed away aged 17. Harvey's family felt strongly that through "Harvey's Defibrillator Collections" our facility should have a device. We couldn't be more grateful and honored by this and would like to thank anyone who has donated money in Harvey's memory to help install more defibrillators in rural communities. 💚

📔📔 RAISED POLE CLINIC DATES 2024! 📔📔
Right folks, after an INSANE response to my previous post asking if there would be any interest in doing some special raised poles clinics the answer was a resounding YES!!
Grab your diaries and make a note of any of the following that would be of interest to you!
Bookings are not open yet and won’t be for another few weeks for the ones in September and October, but the one at moulton college will open very soon and be a raised poles clinic!
Please note that these won’t be suitable for horses just coming back into work as your horse will need to have a good level of fitness, neither will they be suitable for horses who haven’t been to pole clinics before or who aren’t familiar and confident with polework, and if you’re rehabbing your horse please check with the industry professional treating them that raised poles are a suitable exercise for whatever they are rehabbing from!
Spaces for these will be limited and these clinics won’t be repeated this year, but I will keep a waitlist for each venue, so if you want to be the first to know when the bookings open, message me ( don’t rely on me seeing comments on this post, if you definitely want to get onto the waitlist you NEED to message me!) and let me know which date/venue you want to be notified about.
People on the waitlist will be told when bookings open 48 hours before I officially open them on here so they will get the first opportunity to book. Once you join the waitlist there is ZERO obligation to book, it just gives you chance to jump the queue when bookings do open, so you’ve got nothing to lose!!!

We love seeing RDA volunteers having a go and trying something new at our training sessions. Just last week we focused on preparing and presenting for competition, working on washing, grooming techniques and plaiting! The ponies definitely enjoyed a little pamper!
Young Volunteers! We are so lucky to have some fantastic young volunteers at the centre. During the school holidays we were able to deliver some green card training so that our young volunteers can now assist with lessons. Next RDA volunteer training: "Travelling Horses"
Thursday 4th July
10:00am to 12:00pm
This training will focus on building knowledge and understanding on travelling horses and ponies for competition, schooling, moving yards or vet visit. We will cover; What to pack in lorry or trailer, safety checks for travel, how to prepare your horse/pony for travel and loading and unloading best practice, tips, and advice!

Tractor went for an outing to receive a bit of TLC and has come back in excellent working order ready to grade the arenas after ridden sessions.

Our horses are having a 3 week break from lessons, and are currently enjoying a week of hacking before they have a week’s holiday just going out in the field. Then, in the new year, they will do another week of hacking before returning to their amazing job of delivering sessions to the local disabled community. It is so important that they have a varied workload to keep them fit, strong and injury free, as well as keeping their sparkle! ✨ 💎

It was Sunday fun day for these 3 today. A bit of strength and fitness work in the field, following a hack. Just another one of the activities our RDA horses do to keep them fit, strong and with a varied workload. They seemed to enjoy themselves. 😉
We are now set up and ready for our Pony Club Open Day! If you are visiting us today please park in the overflow car park and then walk down to the gate onto the yard - remember to shut the gate behind you! 😁 We have lots of interactive activities set up on the yard and have the ponies ready to be groomed, plaited and bandaged! 🐴 Remember to come along today between 11am and 2pm to see what we have to offer 🤩
All of our horses have had a new salt lick to make sure they replenish their essential mineral levels, particularly during this hot weather we’re seeing. ☀️ 🥵 They have also been having wet hay to up their water intake and the shade of their stables during the day to avoid heat stroke and the flies. Figgy is enjoying his salt lick! 😋

Today is Jump Friday here at the RDA National Training Centre 🤩 Jump Friday runs every Friday here at the NTC and is bookable by the NTC website - https://rda-national-training-centre.ecpro.co.uk/ Sessions are 45 minutes with our UKCC level 3 Coach Jo Hayward.
