Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New year!
Seems like 5 mins since I was last writing this post. The year has wizzed by and I thank you for your continued support. I feel very lucky to have such a lovely bunch of clients. Batteries are well and truly depleted so I’m off to recharge and will be back on the 2nd Jan 😁

I sometimes get asked about secure areas to exercise dogs and this place has recently opened. Looks fab, please share with friends 😊

Where your dog gets to be a dog. Secure field for dog exercise. Field available for sole use, you can work on training, recall, or just play - safe in the knowledge another dog isn't going to run up to you

Lovely Clients

Forewarning, the A53 through Shawbury is to be resurfaced and therefore closed from 3rd to 13th September. No doubt complete chaos will ensue so please allow extra time if you have an appointment during this week. I’m not sure where they will divert traffic but it will certainly take longer. Many thanks 😁

Happy New Year to all my fabulous customers. Thank you for your support through 2022. I hope you all enjoyed the festive period. December was mad busy and we ended the year with the whole family down with the lurgy. Now nearly back to health and looking forward to a busy 2023, seeing regular customers and welcoming new. Please remember appointments are 3-4 weeks in advance so booking at least one ahead on collection is really helpful. See you all soon 😁🐶🐩

DOG OWNER FRIENDS PLEASE READ

Any dog owners - there’s a bad virus going round at the moment, reading about it non stop. Vets are putting out advice as it’s spreading really fast and they’re seeing an advanced amount of admissions.

Try stay away from parks, don’t let your dog drink outside water, puddles etc and not to sniff 💩. And clean your dogs paws after every walk in case they’ve walked in the virus then catch it when cleaning themselves 🥺

This is from a vet 👇

Vets are reporting higher than usual occurrenced of gastroenteritis in dogs which is fitting with a wider phenomenon as reported by The Small Animal Veterinary Surveillance Network (SAVSNET). So far we have found that the cases seen- whilst clearly being poorly- have responded well to treatment.
The British Veterinary Association (BVA) advise that with prompt veterinary treatment almost all dogs make a full recovery from this uncommonly violent gastric bug.

How Is This Vomiting Bug Different?
According to Vet Dr Danielle Greenberg of SAVSNET, this vomiting bug is unusual due to:

Prolific vomiting of 5 or more episodes in a 12 hour period which can stop for a period (such as overnight) and then starts again
Dogs are often unable to keep water down at peak vomiting stage
Anorexia and lethargy for 2-5 days
Diarrhoea: Most dogs have ‘gravy-like’ diarrhoea
Full recovery can take 5-10 days

What We Know So Far:
This outbreak is affecting areas across the Midlands, Wales, the North of England and Northern Ireland
The illness is most likely a virus but has not yet been identified.
Seems to be dog-specific, thankfully humans don’t appear to be at risk.
This is not caused by Parvo or Salmonella

I thought this information was really useful and never would think of it had I not been alerted

This is an X-ray of a dog’s bent front leg. See that tiny white spec? That’s a microchip! It has migrated down the leg....far from where it was inserted, between the dog’s shoulders. This is actually quite common.....

When lost pets are scanned, the entire body SHOULD be scanned to catch any that have migrated. But, as an owner, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AT THEIR YEARLY VET EXAM, to ask for a quick scan to make sure that: (1) the chip is still working, (2) the location of the chip is good, and (3) that the chip info is correct.

Remember microchips save lives and reunite families with their pet.... just have it checked regularly!

Dear Customers
Apologies, I have neglected my page lately. I’m very much still here and been busy with my regulars and welcomed new clients. I’ve had some different breeds through the doors as well, ones I don’t see much off. An Afghan Hound, an enormous Briard, an Australian Terrier to name a few. Also Several new Norfolk Terriers which have all been a delight. Here are a few photos, something I must work on is remembering to take pictures of grooms as I’m completely hopeless 🙄
All grooms are guided by Clients unless there is a welfare issue and while many like elements of breed clips, most request a manageable pet clip
