It was so lovely to see this girl work her way around a scent obstacle course today. She had new and old scents, to help her explore and build her confidence. She was super engaged and absolutely loved it! It was lovely to see 🥰

We love practising our parkour skills whilst we’re on a dog walk! This chap has been taught a brilliant 2 paws on by his owners, and demonstrates it fabulously for me!

And what a beautiful day for a walk! Just wanted to be outside in the sunshine ☀️

It’s been a week of pop-ins, walks and 121s, phew!

The first picture was post having to toilet in the rain. The audacity of the suggestion! Going outside. In the rain 😂

Love all these wonderful pups. I’m away this weekend doing an 24 hour aged trail with my dog, which should be lovely to have a mini-break with him, doing something he loves and is growing in confidence at (and me too!).

This is such a good reminder. How often do we notice the things we want to change or be different in our life with our dog? Our dogs do brilliant, great things every day and we just don’t notice them as much as we could 🐶🥰

What did you notice first? The one thing that was wrong? Or the hundreds of other things that were right?

It's human nature to notice the negative. To notice errors, no matter how trivial. To notice when something isn't done, but rarely acknowledge when it is. To complain about bad service but let good service pass unremarked.

And we do it with our dogs too. We take the good stuff for granted (or perhaps we don't even consciously see it?) but complain when they do one 'wrong' thing. Every single one of these green ticks represents a 'rewardable' moment...but how many actually get rewarded? But the one instance of 'bad' behaviour....you can bet your bottom dollar we notice that!

Do you see your dog's good behaviour? Do you reward it? Because if you don't you might start seeing fewer ticks and more crosses....

We’re giving our beloved Blunt Mondays a fresh new twist— say hello to Myth Mondays! 🎉

Every Monday, we’ll tackle common myths about canine arthritis and pain, replacing misconceptions with facts that can help your furry friends live their best lives 🐾

This Week’s Myth:
“My dog can’t be in pain because they’re still running around.”

Fact: Dogs are incredible at hiding pain, and adrenaline from activities like running or playing can temporarily mask their discomfort. Just because your dog is active doesn’t mean they’re pain-free. Look out for subtle signs like stiffness, limping, or hesitation—they could be telling you more than you think.

Let’s bust these myths together and make life better for our pups! 🐕✨

Proud of this chap today!
We’ve been working on reactivity around other dogs for a little while now. Today, he passed three dogs at a closer proximity than he ever has done, and he refocused back to me and was super relaxed. Such a good boy and can tell his owners have been putting in the hard work 🙂

We have some colder temperatures forecast over the weekend and it can be too cold to walk your dog! Dogs in the UK aren’t acclimated to very cold temperatures and older, puppies, smaller, thinner coated dogs are particularly at risk.

Sharing ahead of New Year’s Eve. Your dogs might also be carrying overstimulation from the Christmas period, so create a nice space for them to feel safe in, calming music and perhaps a chew if this helps them get through.

Well, that’s a wrap for 2024! What a year it’s been. I’ve learnt so much, met some fantastic dogs and people and have had so many muddy, snowy, rainy, sunny laughs I’ve lost count.

Thank you all for your support this year, it’s been much appreciated - and thank you so much for the lovely gifts I’ve received too 🎁 You’re a fab lot and I love working with you.

I’ll be back in the ‘office’ from 6th January (though I know there are a couple of pop-ins booked in between, so don’t panic, I’ll be there!). I’ll miss you all and I hope you have a safe, happy, peaceful Christmas and new year! 🧑‍🎄🎄🐶💓
