My name is Laura and since I was little I have been surrounded by dogs, cats, ferrets, canaries and many other small critters. Because of this I have always wanted to have my own little pet care business. As a pet owner myself I understand how hard it is to find and trust someone with your own pet. It is why before I take up any care roles with new customers a 'meet and greet' is arranged so both

owner and pet can meet me and ensure I am the person for them. I also provide daily visits for those who work or have puppies or elderly dogs as well as a dog walking service. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch.

๐Ÿ“ฃ๐Ÿ• Muzzle training with our experts

If you own an American Bully XL type dog, you can start preparing them for the restrictions by making sure they are trained to happily wear a muzzle.

Weโ€™re offering free online sessions to help you do this and will cover:
๐Ÿ‘‰ information about the most suitable types of muzzle
๐Ÿ‘‰ how to ensure a good fit
๐Ÿ‘‰ how to teach your dog to enjoy wearing their muzzle.

Book now ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://bit.ly/3RsuUCw

Our expert trainers have muzzle trained thousands of dogs in our care and can answer any other questions you might have about how to prepare for any upcoming changes affecting you and your dog.

These sessions are designed to support owners of American Bully XLs in light of the recent news, but all dog owners are welcome to attend. Itโ€™s useful for all dogs to be able to wear a muzzle comfortably โ€“ for those who are anxious at vet visits, for dogs who like to eat undesirable things on a walk or to keep other dogs and people safe if dogs are worried.

Recently I read "If you have a dog walker, you shouldn't have a dog."

This is my boy, he has a dog walker 2 days a week, on my busiest days. The days when I'm too wiped out to offer him the decent romp in lovely natural environments that he deserves.

'Dog walker' is such an understated title.

These guys are the bridge between the modern reality our dogs have been thrust into, that's so at odds with their genetics.

The vast majority of dogs were not born to be content with 15 minute pavement walks, but you need to work to pay the bills. I get it.

Did you know behaviour problems rarely occur in nature?

Our dogs are captive animals.

Sit with that one as long as you need.

They were not designed for sofa snoozing and short restrictive walks on a tight lead on paved ground.

When behaviour problems occur in captive zoo animals, we recognise it as the wrong environment for these animals to thrive....

In dogs, we just shoot for compliance and slap on a lazy excuse like 'dominance' or 'stubborn'.

Good dog walkers are a modern day gift to our dogs, and if you use one, you are an ace guardian who chooses to recognise the innate needs of your dog, and respect them for who they are.

You're not a lazy guardian; you're an enlightened one.

Huge high five to all the dog walkers out there, including my own Paw Legged Friends Dog Walking and Pet Sitting Wakefield - thank you for making our restrictive, modern world a better place for our four legged friends ๐Ÿ’›

Heat stroke in cats is a bigger threat than you may think. Although our feline friends descend from desert environments, they can still suffer from heat stroke when the heat is sweltering โ€“ both inside and out. Letโ€™s take a closer look at heat stroke in cats, how to spot it and how to keep your cat safe and cool. Read more at : https://www.myfamilyvets.co.uk/heat-stroke-in-cats

โš ๏ธ COLD WEATHER SAFETY โš ๏ธ
Snow, sleet, ice, and wind are predicted for January and February and just like weโ€™re affected by the cold, our dogs are too. ๐Ÿถโ„๏ธ But we know it's not a one size fits all so we've provided a handy gauge and some helpful tips to keep your dog safe as temperatures plummet.
โœ… Keep your dog on a lead if it's snowing as there may be deep patches or the snow may cover up areas that arenโ€™t safe.
โœ… Keep your eye on them licking from puddles as antifreeze is highly poisonous but tasty to dogs.
โœ… Make sure your dog is wearing a collar and an ID tag and is microchipped. This is a legal requirement but it's also best practise to ensure your dog is safe.
โœ… Make sure you wipe your dog down (in particular their paws, legs and stomach) as grit from the roads and dampness from rain or snow can irritate their skin.
โœ… Donโ€™t let your dog walk on frozen ponds as the ice may not be thick enough to take their weight.
