Today we had some lovely patients come in for a CT scan. CT scans are one of the "advanced imaging" modalities available in general practice and can be used for many purposes from diagnosing slipped discs and subtle fractures, to assessing the whole chest and abdomen in minute detail which can be especially useful in emergency situations. You can think of CT somewhat like a '3D x-ray' but in far greater detail. Sometimes fondly referred to by the team as "The Doughnut of Truth" as there is little that it cannot detect. It is a tremendous help in aiding diagnoses every week.

Today we were treated to some in-house Continued Professional Development (CPD). Each year, all Registered Vets and Nurses must complete a minimum number of CPD hours to remain up to date with current evidence, and to maintain standards of care.

Today's CPD on Hypotension (low blood pressure) came courtesy of our wonderful Vet Amanda, who holds additional certificates in Feline Medicine and is an Advanced Practitioner in Emergency+Critical care.

These educational sessions are just one of the ways in which we ensure we provide the best possible care for your much loved pets.
