Mille rushing into Monday this week - I hope the weather is as good today as it was last Friday when this video was taken! 😍 Feels a bit blustery 🌬️
Hot Weather: How we keep your dog safe ☀️
🐶 Enrichment:
Frozen kongs will be given.
Doggy Ice creams will be available.
Ice cubes will be in the water.
Paddling pools will be filled with nice cold water.
🧊 Cooling Items:
We have cool mats both in the van and at the salon.
We have cooling coats and cooling bandanas for the older, black, fluffier of dogs that suffer more from the heat.
🐕 Walks:
We walk in shady areas, river walks and walks with long cool grass.
We walk before 12 if weather restricts us.
💨 Air Con:
The van is fitted with air conditioning and a doggy fan in the back run off a seperate leisure battery.
The salon is fitted with air conditioning which will prevent the temperature from rising too high.
🌡️ Temperature:
20 degrees+ We’ll only walk in shady or river walks.
24 degrees+ We will only be at the daycare premises and will not walk.
26 degrees+ We are advised not to open due to our licensing restrictions.
This is monitored via temperature gauges in the van and in the salon. The temperature must stay below 26 in the salon for us to be able to open and is one of the only air conditioned salons in the area.
Just us reminiscing on last Wednesday 😍 listen to the pitter patter of paws and nature 🌿

When people ask me whether I made the right decision to quit my job, I’m gonna show them this video 🤷🏼♀️ How many people can say they love Monday?
Tilly has been with us last weekend having an absolute blast! 🤩As a Romanian rescue, she can be scared of things at times, but we love her enthusiasm for life!

🍃Welfare Focused Doggy Daycare 🍂
As we move closer to opening our doggy daycare, we reflect on what makes a good daycare. Below are a great list of guidelines stolen from another post. We tick every one! Have a read and tell us what you think 🥰
1.Doggy day care needs to be seen as a place of safety for dogs that cannot be left alone,- a place where dogs feel relaxed and safe and have plenty of time to rest. Day care should NEVER be viewed as a primary socialisation facility - a place to take dogs so they can play with other dogs and learn to make friends. This is where it all goes wrong: the focus should be on relaxation and meeting the dogs’ emotional needs, not on constant dog-dog interactions.
2. All day care managers/owners should have a GOOD behaviour/training qualification. All staff must have a basic qualification in training or behaviour.
3. Day cares should be kept small. Without keeping it small, how can all the needs of each dog be met?
4. Day cares must have space for each dog to be able to spend the majority of their time at the facility away from the other dogs. Only if dogs are calm and disinterested (not avoiding) each other, should they be allowed to spend most of their time in the same area. Each dog should have their own quiet area with a bed, chews/occupational feeders etc where they can rest and relax - preferably WITHOUT being confined in a small area or crated.
5. Dogs should be encouraged to sleep and rest as much as possible during the day: it is normal for dogs to sleep 14 hours out of 24 and for puppies to sleep up to 20 hours. If a dog is awake for 8 hours on the go at daycare, it is completely unnatural: when dogs are kept occupied throughout the day with play and interaction with people and other dogs, they become overstimulated and emotionally exhausted. They end up unable to settle at home and incapable of being alone at home at all. This becomes a vicious cycle i.e. the more the dog goes to day care, the more they
Wow 🤩
