βοΈ With the warmer weather we've had the pleasure of experiencing lately only set to become more frequent (hopefully...) as we head towards the Summer season, here are just a few tips to help keep your pets safe:
π§ Make sure you top up water bowls regularly, & if youβre going on a long walk or car journey when the weather is warm, bring along a travel bowl and a bottle of water to keep your four legged friend hydrated.
π₯Ύ During spells of hot weather, limit exercise to early morning and evening when it is cooler, and avoid the hottest part of the day.
π Never leave your dog unattended in your car on a warm day β temperatures can rapidly reach dangerous levels.
π Cats can find their way into uncomfortably warm places they shouldnβt, such as non-ventilated greenhouses, sheds or cars, and then get trapped. On a hot day, this can cause heatstroke, and may even prove fatal, so make sure to check such places for lost visitors.
β±οΈ Make sure your pet has access to plenty of shade outside, rather than lying in direct sunlight β it may be safest to avoid sun exposure between 10am and 4pm.
