PLEASE stop walking your dogs in this heat! It is not only dangerous, it’s cruel! 🥵
Keep them inside, and ensure there is shade if in the garden! 😎
Ensure they have access to plenty of cool, fresh water! 💧
Why not try making some frozen treats or freezing a treat toy! 🍦

As a dog walker today I started early to ensure any dogs that couldn’t be moved to another day were walked early this morning! Those that needed to be seen later in the day got a drop in visit to ensure they were comfortable and had plenty of water! 😊

However whilst out and about ensuring the welfare of these dogs I was truly shocked by the amount of people out walking dogs! Not only were they walking their dogs but they were walking them on pavements! I could feel the heat of the pavement through my shoes, imagine how that must feel on your dogs delicate paw pads! 🥵

Please just be sensible. A dog never died from missing a walk! 😊🐾

It’s not just dogs I love, I’m happy to care for any animals you might have! Well maybe not spiders, but any other animals!! 😅
Recently I decided to volunteer at , a what a great decision! Yes it’s dirty work, but what a joy to be surrounded by birds of every kind, pigs, goats, sheep, horses, cats, dogs, tortoise, and more! It’s giving me the opportunity to care for, handle and learn about all these awesome animals and also experience how generous people can be! The ranch relies on donations to keep going, be that donations of money, food, bedding, shelters or time, all are as important as each other! I very nearly didn’t go today, but had I not gone I wouldn’t have been treated to this beautiful display from Wally the peacock!! 😍😍😍 Contact the Ranch if you can help in any way, it’s always appreciated!

Please get your pets microchipped and remember to keep those details up to date!!

There's only three more days until it becomes compulsory for all cats in England to be microchipped. This applies to both house cats and ones that like to roam further afield.

Are you prepared?

It's been mandatory for dogs since 2016 and has helped many find their way home when they've been lost or stolen.

Something to remember is that if your dog/cat is chipped, but the details are outdated, the chip isn't registered or it's a foreign microchip that hasn't been transferred to an English database then the animal is legally considered not chipped under the legislation.

There are so many fun dog sports out there, Hoopers being just one! Why not give it a go! This sport is great fun for all breeds and ages of dog, and also for owners with limited physical fitness!

Please be aware if you walk dogs in this area…..

*** update - I have been out with a canine tracker and we tracked Sapper’s scent and blood trail to see if we could find how he injured himself- sadly it appears he managed to find his way onto the a20 and was hit by a car- (who didn’t report this) - he is currently stable and being looked after by the wonderful staff at Fitzpatrick referrals. ***

Warning- Leybourne woods

This afternoon my dogs were out on a walk when one of them suffered a serious leg injury.

His leg has been broken in two places and he’s managed de-glove the skin from that same foot.

Although now stabilised he is looking at a horrendous wound, at least two sets of surgery and potentially losing the leg- the vets believe that this was caused by an illegally placed snap-snare trap.

He was in Leybourne woods- by the stream. (Between the bottom of West Malling town high street and the travellers site on birling road)

I would strongly advise a dog owners to keep their dogs on a lead or avoid the woods.

🖤 Dogs who wear muzzles are good dogs.
🖤 Dogs who aren’t dog friendly are good 🖤 dogs.
🖤 Dogs who are lead reactive are good dogs.
🖤 Dogs who need space are good dogs.
🖤 Dogs who are scared of strangers are good dogs.

🐾 If you see someone clearly making steps to avoid you or your dog while you are out walking, please respect them.

🐾 If someone lets you know that their dog needs space or isn’t dog friendly, please respect them.

🐾 If you see someone clip their dog on lead when you approach, clip yours on too and give them space.

🐾 Some dogs don't want to interact with other dogs or people and that's fine. I'm sure you don't want to interact with everyone you see either! They still deserve to have a great quality of life and go everywhere yours gets to go as long as they are taking the right precautions.

🐾 Having a dog that needs space is a challenge all of its own, but we are doing our best to advocate for them to ensure they live the best lives we can give them. Training can't happen at all unless we take these dogs into public places.

🐾 To everyone with friendly dogs, please don’t be offended and please don't judge.

🐾 A nervous dog can happen to anyone at anytime. Instead of playing the blame game, let's all try make that dog's life more comfortable and its owners life much easier by being understanding. 🖤

Since the sunshine started appearing some customers have mentioned that they don’t like their dogs drinking from public bowls due to contamination risks.

I absolutely understand this concern and would like to reassure all customers that I always carry my own supply of clean, fresh water to keep your pets hydrated!

I pride myself on looking after your pets welfare as I would my own pets. Ensuring they are safe, healthy and enjoy their walks or visits as best they can!

Know what to do if you find a nestling or a fledgling! I learnt this last year when a fledgling was found in my garden! Please don’t be tempted to take the bird in, just move it to a safe place if they aren’t in one and the parent will more than likely come back…..

Today we completed this little pack when they went for their first walk as a th*****me!! We went to Borden Nature Reserve, where they all just wanted to play rather than walk! The 2 cockapoos, Rufus and Betty, who are both less than a year old took a particular liking to each other which was lovely to see! I’m so looking forwards to our future walks together and watching them grow together!

Today we had another new starter! Everyone say hi to Teddy! 👋

Teddy is a big ball of energy! He nearly knocked me over when I walked in! 😅🐾 We enjoyed a lovely walk together though and are looking forwards to many more!

Teddy loves playing with other dogs, so if you think your dog might want to be his friend and join him on our afternoon walks why not get in contact! 😊
