Lost daylight (common theme this time of year) but did manage to snap some of the new rounds that went in to some of residents today .. perfect timing ahead of this forecasted storm coming 🌧️ 💨

New boy on the block, Arthur, settling in very well. I love having youngsters here and being privileged enough to watch them grow and mature.

He is a very helpful poo picking companion as he doesn’t leave your side! 🤭😍

We pride ourselves in our dedication and love to every single animal that resides with us. We always do multiple checks a day (including right before it’s pitch black) on our residents here, especially as we have some much older horses and ponies.

We noticed late this afternoon that one of our older mares just wasn’t ’quite herself’ and there were just some subtle signs something was off. After prompt discussion with the owner, we decided to get the vet out to be on the safe side. Lucky we did, and the mare will be fine, but it’s so nice to hear other professionals recognise the care and standard we give to our clients/horses (and of course we always appreciate our lovely feedback from owners).

It’s a knackering line of work and not for the faint hearted (especially in these cold months) BUT you know what they say .. do something you love and you’ll never work a day in your life, right? 💞

Some ‘basics’ for us but after some recent viewings realised maybe we take them for granted so here are some of the things that come as standard when on livery with us;

✔️ well maintained fencing
✔️ fields are poo picked every single day
✔️ fields are rotated and well cared for
✔️ hay and basic hard feed are provided during the winter months
✔️ no hidden charges or fees (rug changes/treatment or small wounds and holding for visits and appointments are all part of it!)
✔️ water troughs/buckets scrubbed and refreshed
✔️ good communication and updates

We are small and family run (all live on site) and love every animal here like our own. This is why we don’t take on as many as we could or ‘cram them in’. They live out naturally all year round with access to forage and shelter with appropriate rugs when/if needed. Please don’t be offended if we don’t feel your horse is the right fit for us (or even we aren’t best suited for your horse) - I really do value having the right horses and clients here ☺️
